Looking for an alternator
Team_DC-Derrick replied to kookz's topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring
not being a smart ass... do you have proof of this clamped power? i seem to run into this issue with sundown owners alot.... and if its a daily beater, having the extra batts are nice, not for some one who constantly has a battery charger on it and who babys it.... -

you should really go see how much rise you have, then you might think twice before saying that, having 5k+ actual power, and then claiming 5k with out knowing how much power you are truly getting is different.... 105.3 volts x 50.3 amps 5490watts rising from .7 to 2.09 ohms..... please go clamp your amp to see how much power you are getting out of it, and then you will be suprised -

for how long? ive demoed for 8+ hours straight for 2 days..... 4 kinetik 2400s and a 1400 for me.... 8hrs strait lol..as long as i wanted and that was when the alt was hot. but im not goin to throw that power to a single 18 for 8 hours obviously i have no desire to listen to bass for that long. oh im not joking at all.... ask anyone who was at slamology last year.. my car played all day both days, from when i got there to when i left.... so unless you can say you have done that or even similar... having the batts to back it up is never a bad thing.... edit and a saz 4500 doesnt mean you are getting 5k+ out of it... you could have 4x the rise and be sitting at 8 ohms..... but you knew that right? -

Why's that? Essentially, isn't that what a walled of car is? A box firing forward into the cabin, totally sealed off from the rear? because you are trying to pressurize a huge ass area with generally 2 12s or 2 15s, which is pretty hard to do, now if there was a loading wall where the rear seats were, it wouldnt be an issue firing forward sounds better, because of less rattle, but you need something to load off of, i tested this today, and yes, while it sounded cleaner, less rattle, it wasnt as loud as firing off the driver side and sub facing the drivers side... I had my T2's firing in the cabin walled off and I liked it but it is WAY louder with my new box...if you did something like Thor though you will have different results... thor was also dropping a AB1100.1 to each lvl 5....... i have a wall, but that was in the GFs car, the subs just need something close to load off of... the further away the sound wave has to travel, the less it is... thats why normal walls are behind the b pillar because it unloads off the windshield, and doesnt travel far...

What do you mean by a loading wall? Kind of a NOOB when it comes to firing forward into the cabin and aren't you pressurizing even more area when you fire them toward the rear? The trunk and the cabin? Just trying to find the answers I need before I build my next box. Thanks for the input. its just basically a wood wall that the soundwaves will bounce off of, basically the same thing if you were firing into the trunk, it bounces off the back... if you have a box already, just test different positions in your trunk, facing rear, facing to the passenger side, and the driver side, and all that, before you seal it off, you might be comfortable with it facing a different way

I think he already knows. If he is asking about the performance of a particular battery he already knows what he needs to know. It sounds like to me he has some nasty plans underway. Those subs arn't gonna last long with THAT much power I thought so 2, but just covering the basics.. you never know till you ask, I would rather ask and look like an asshole than to give him information and it blow up on him
