They're both good subs, but by my screen name I bet you can guess which one I'd rather run

I have a Jbl CS60.4 that is in excellent condition that I want to get rid of. This thing looks almost like brand new. There are a few very minor scratches on one of the mounting feet and that is the only cosmetic issue with the amp at all. The amp works flawlessly and puts out quite a bit of power for the small footprint. Here are the specs from Jbl: CS60.4 • 60W RMS x 4 channels at 4 ohms and ²1% THD + N • Signal-to-noise ratio: 86dBA (reference 1W into 4 ohms) • 80W RMS x 4 channels at 2 ohms, 14.4V supply and ²1% THD + N • 160W RMS x 2 channels at 4 ohms, 14.4V supply and ²1% THD + N • Dynamic power: 145W at 2 ohms • Effective damping factor: 6.395 at 4 ohms • Frequency response: 10Hz – 27kHz (–3dB) • Maximum input signal: 6V • Maximum sensitivity: 100mV • Output regulation: – 0.03dB at 4 ohms • Dimensions (L x W x H): 13-1/4" x 10-1/4" x 2-3/16" • Fuses: 25A x 2 Here's a shot of the few small scratches on the mounting feet: I'm selling this amp since I'm getting a Sundown 50.4 from Jacob this week. I also have a Cerwin Vega Exl400.4 that may be up for sale too if there is any interest in it. It is also a 4 channel and if anyone is interested I'll put up some pics of it. I'm a little hesitant to sell it though since it's one of my favorite amps that I've owned. I've come to find out that it is a rebadged Arc Audio amp with Cerwin Vega exterior on it. It sounds great too, but it's time to match all the amps with Sundown in my ride. The price on the Jbl amp shipped will be $85 and will also be insured with delivery conformation. I accept paypal and ship right away. I have quite a few references on here so let me know if you have any questions

Good luck getting a DD recone unless you own one of their subs. They won't sell them to people without the serial number on the woofer cause they don't want people doing exactly what you are trying to do. You'd be better off buying parts from Foreverbumpin here on the forum. He will sell you whatever you need as far as spiders, cones, coils, baskets. Just pm him and ask him for a price on what you need.

Thanks Brian, I'd glad you gots muh back. That's a good question. I've never seen anyone do a comparrison on those two subs. It would be interesting to see it done. It wouldn't be fair for either sub to be thrown in the same enclosure though, each would have to be optimum enclosure for the subs, same power, and the same car. I'm guessing it would be close, but Sundown does have 2 subs higher up the line than the Nightshade. The first one is the Monster that is still in the testing phase and the other is the Neo mag sub that is still in the r&d phase. Each of them are absolutely great for spl. Jake has shown quite a few results of the Monster, but the Neo sub hasn't even been finished yet. Send me a level 5 and I promise that I'll do an unbiased test for the sake of comparrison on which is a better spl woofer. I also agree with Boon about the AQ HDC3 15. They are great for the money and are built similar to the DD subs. I do have a buddy that swapped out a HDC3 for a Nightshade and gained .4 db with the Shade. It was the same box though so who knows which was actually louder.

Like I told you send Jacob an email at Sundown. He will give you a price shipped on one. He was just doing a special not too long ago on the blem motors for around $350 each. I hate to say it cause the DC guys will get pissy about it, but the Nightshade will bitchslap the DC Level 4 and 4XL. Sorry but it's true It's up to you on what you want to do but I'd definately wait until you talk to Jacob before you go making any decisions on a sub. I have run both company's subs and which one do you think I know is better? I've still yet to see anyone that has a 4XL break over a 152 off under 5K watts. I wish I had a Crx too so I could show you over a 154 out of mine just by switching cars, but since I'm rocking a Focus ZX3 the 152.6 will have to do for now. Seriously think about it before you buy either sub!

Here's a link to the Nighshade on the Sundown site. http://sundownaudio.com/index.php/products...htshade-15.html

Sundown Audio Nightshade 15 is a perfect sub for you. I do a 152.6 on the dash with one of them in my car off of 2 Sundown saz2000d's so you can see that they are definately no joke. Talk to Jacob Fuller the owner of Sundown at [email protected] He prefers email and will get back to you very quickly. There are several Team Sundown members on this site that run the Nightshades and do very well with them. I suggest you check into them FIRST!

I've heard both the Alpine and the MB Quarts that your looking at. If it were me I'd probably give the CDT's a try though. I've heard great stuff about them and have wanted to give them a try sometime soon. I may try to pick up a pair for the Q Logic kicks that I'm getting.

DD 6x9 flex
Nightshade replied to EricM9104's topic in Member Videos - Host 'em & Post 'em! System Vids / Off Topic
Actually 8 6X9's has just about the same cone area as 2 15's not 2 12's. -
Yeah there are quite a few shows to go to. You just missed NSPL finals in Dillion, SC. There will be several NSPL shows in the next few months in NC, which isn't too far of a drive for you to go to. At the most I'd say 2 1/2 hours. Then there is another organization that is very small called Competiton Only out of Sumter, SC. I don't reccomend competing with them cause for being called Competition Only there really isn't any competition at all.

16 Sundown sa-12s build
Nightshade replied to Derrick824's topic in Sundown Audio - GREAT Amps/Subs! GREAT Customer Service!
Congrats Robbie and Derrick. I know the rest of you guys are jealous cause I've got to hear this thing already. It is serious on the lows and moves more air then ne of those large industrial fans. -

I use a cda-9831 for my burp setup. I wish the front and rear preouts worked on it cause I would probably take out my Pioneer deh-6000ub and try it in the dash. The only problem is that it might skip at over 150 db on music. I know the Pioneer did and I had to get a changer for it. I also own a cda-7977 that I just picked up. I love that particular model and it is from 2001. The unit works flawlessly and I'm looking for something to do with it. I got it as a backup for my 9831.

That was a pretty cool vid. Nice find.

I wouldn't be so sure about the price going up. This is a relist that was on ebay about 3 weeks ago. I asked him a question about what series woofers and they are 2500's. The only way he's gonna sell them is if someone close is willing to come and pick them up. He'd be better off taking them out of the box and shipping.
