  1. Exactly. Its the new cool thing to.do
  2. For me no. But its not my money.
  3. Right the gsme was to peak your box at the same freq as your vehicles res freq.it.only had to play that one freq too. There.is no way I could ever consider anything over 20 sq in of port per cube for musical use. Even that scares me. My limit is really 17 to 18 for woofers that willplay music .
  4. I hate saying this but its.all install dependent. I used to hang and know alot of hardcore spl guys. Like guys who had boxes stacked in their garage that they could pull out and show you the writing on the top of the specs and what score it did at what freq. Power didnt matter because they were overdriving their woofers anyways. Alot of street a b and c boxes that were done with one battery as well. Alot of ugly 2x4s in the ports extra baffles etc. They could range from a couple thousand watts to about 5k in most cases. Small time for us now but at that point it was big time. Alot of what theyd see was larger ports loss of cone control. Extremely peaky boxes and more woofers that went poof.
  5. Im familiar with it all. What was used to determine too much port area was testing testing and testing without any swags. Thats how the rule of thumb came about. The loudspeaker cookbook has been around forever so its not ground breaking. Nor do people jgnore it. Theories can sometimes be flawed especially in a vehicle.
  6. Now ive said this before. I want to see one of those boxes with all that port on a termlab. Over a spectrum of frquencies. Just because there is a formula out there doesnt mean its right. I dont care how good someone says it is. If it falls on its face jn the output category sounding good just means not loud and from my own experience and all the people ive dealt with and worked with who have experinented with this kind of thing there is a decrease in output from too much port area
  7. I couldnt even imagine wearing number 2 in public. Is that going to have the big Johnson logo on it too
  8. 4 keep it simple clean and classy. No ed hardy influenced stripper influenced tattoo influenced stuff
  9. So how many of you guys have actually built a box with that much port area? I'm curious as to what the results were.
  10. Well im not sure what to tell you man. It works every time I do it. What browser are you using
  11. the last part was directed at the genuis giving bad advice again
  12. If youre pressing on one side yiu are pressing at an angle.
  13. Make sure you have a good ground. I clip right on to my amp ground distro. Yes use track two to set your 4 channel..........thsts the second thread kd stellar advice there.guy
  14. clean up general audio. It amazes me how many people cant post in the right forum but yet play with electronics.

  15. I think the coffee grinder is alot of user error from users forcing a disk in. The disk basically self feeds. If you jam it in its going to strip the gears etc. We used tonsee this alot on older jvc head units too. Disks would get stuck etc because people would force them in instead of letting the player do the work
  16. waits to see how long the will this design work with xxxxxx woofers too start to come rolling in
  17. as far as im concerned an amp needs to pass rated wattage in all four tests.
  18. I think youbare going to spend alot of time and money on this for it to fail. Buy the loudspeaker cook book and read it. Understand it. If these are the questions youbare asking its not going to end well if you do get it together
  19. when you did the flashback i laughed my ass off at the old 240p resolution. Man it's come along way!
