enlisted when i was 17 left when i was 18. havent been back more than a dozen times. I struggled for yrs and scrimped and scrounged to make what I had out of myself. I feel that by leaving home and not having that environment i'm much better off than if i had stayed at home. My wife on the other hand lived with her parents until she was almost thirty. Orange county ny is not a cheap place to live and with the repayment of school loans it can be next to impossible. It's very common in that area.
