Placement and tuning play a large roll in using a driver like that for midbass. Do it incorrectly and you might as well have not done it at all. Steve, did you get any video coverage of how they took all of the readings and did the settings on the time alignment? I know that is one area that a lot of people dont understand and could use kind of a how to vid on..

i'm kinda laughing at the tool bags worthless ramblings myself. Trying to tell us that an amp wired below one ohm will automatically protect is pretty stupid since we have all seen it done many many times and the majority of us have probably done it ourselves and still have the equipment running to this day. And .35? We have seen that ran in daily set ups with out the magic smoke coming out. Not all amps are built like the sony amps that i am sure this dude is so used to using that is trying to give us the "Lesson."

There have been guys running around 5k to a pair and been fine daily. A lot depends on the box and port area

i had 2 of the v1's in a hybrid t-line and they played very musical and metered a 43 @40 hz so they do pound pretty good and that was with them seeing around 400rms each. the V2's will take the power alot better than the v1's will mechanically so you should be fine either way. The decision is yours.

Just remember one thing in regard to building a ground pounder using an astro. You are basically limited to one Alt. There just isnt room under the hood to get jack shit in there...

There is also cooling built into the N series drivers that is there to drive the heat away from the magnet assemblies.

Just remember, if you buy an 8 it has to stay an 8 for its entire life. The 8's have a smaller coil than the other SA line models..
