8:2 when i want a lot of bass i dont give a shit about mids/highs, i usually don't like the actual song anyways. when i want to listen to a real song i know where to set my subs to sound balanced. honestly, midbass makes me happier than sub bass these days.

im definitely suffering from AQD. every good song I find turns out to be compressed garbage. Itunes needs to address this symptom. I think they are the ones suffering from AQD the most.

how did you miss it? he already said he tested the output voltage and got nothing. yes, if a replacement amp works fine with all the same connections then the amp should definitely be the problem.

check the resistance of the subs at the amp. see if it still says 4ohm. or take the sub out and measure each coil. is the amp going into protect at any point or does it just cut output?

you wont be able to fit a aero port big enough in to that box to get the tuning you want. you would need to use pvc and pipe bends or make part of the port external.

hell yes there is a difference. the AP does do rated power but its cheap and dirty. the AQ is a much better amp in many ways. in a small system you want something that will sound good. no sense in sacrificing SQ for SPL when the end result still wont be loud. the AQ will help you have a better sounding sub stage.

the strapped amps split the resistance. so you wire to 2 ohms for each amp to see 1ohm. but you cant strap more than 2 amps together. I remembered some thread a while ago talking about if more than two amps were strapped together, I really should just stop talking out of my ass I didn't mean to make it seem like he did in fact have the option to do it. lol its ok. with the sundown amps, one amp gets all the speaker + and the other gets all the speaker -. so you really couldnt add more to it even if you wanted.

what you have picked out will be a perfectly good 1st system. there will always be something better and we can talk all day about that. if you like the sound of kickers, go for it. there is no reason to over power the subs with a 1500w amp before you even know how to tune the amp. stick with the 500w alpine, its a good amp and you will be less likely to burn up the subs when you make your user errors. and I mean no offense there, we all made mistakes in the beginning.

no, they can not all be tied in together let alone have some turn on and off. amps are not made exactly the same. every part has a tolerance, usually 5-10%. i would imagine there would be delays in the sine waves and the subs would be taking "steps". thats my theory at least. a secondary problem is that amps that are left off but still given input voltage tend to fail over time.

that would be the relay method. the remote turns on the relay and closes the circuit for the ground. or, if you really wanted, you could just run it to a switch instead of messing with a relay.

it needs a ground, not power. that one doesnt seem to need a relay, just hook it up to the HU ground. and in the future, dont GUESS when hooking up wires. this is how you short something out and brake the thing or cause a fire.

well... what model is it? some of the pioneers, like the avics, you move the pin and ground it. the 3200 and 4200 you need a relay because it senses if the parking brake is on when the HU turns on so you need a slight delay.
