    im just glad i teamed up with the old timers who taught me to fight for it. my 1st 150 was beat by a 161. but i was jumping around i was so happy. make your own goals and be happy when you achieve them.

    if you only want one amp, the soundigital 5k or 7k would be pretty killer. but there are TONS of options.

    So its the Fall season and i thought maybe some of you guys could do a tree trick. park under a big tree and see if you can get a bunch of leaves to fall off from bass. then maybe a bunch will float at the window. no idea if it would work but if it did i bet it would look really cool. remember to bring your camera and a friend to record from outside the car.

    its much harder to gain match with an oscope than a dmm... well, at least with mine. using a dmm takes like 10 min.

    oh, i see. i figured it would just be adding solder. i have an amp i working on now that definitely had some crappy solder joints on the output fets.

    my last job was reworking surface mount motherboards. mostly 402 resistors. although i dont exactly have the same shop tools to use... would be a challenge.

    no, PAC makes a knob that goes inline with the RCAs. its a much better way to go. darvex used to sell them but stopped. not sure where to get them now.

    speaker placement is very important for SQ. one guy replaced his dash with speaker cloth and had speakers on the wheel wells. made it sound like some one was in front of the car playing a horn. its pretty crazy. a bit.1 will do a lot more than the 360.2 but expect to spend a good 30 hours of tuning to get it perfect lol. the MS-8 will tune everything for you then you just do little adjustments to your liking.

    copper and all that will effect the nominal load then the rise will multiply the higher load. a smaller box will get less rise but a bigger box is more efficient. its all about finding the perfect balance.

    inductance - sub dependent box size - smaller box = less rise but its less efficient too. tuning - effects the impedance curve nominal load - what you wire the subs to at the amp. unless the RF website got something wrong, the constant power only applies to 1ohm and 2ohm. then does 1500w at 4ohm.

    i see one possible problem. the bass boost works at a specific frequency. maybe on your amp its 32hz (just an example). when you test with the 40hz tone it isnt boosted at that frequency. then as you play music, anything below 40hz is more and more boosted and could be clipping very badly by the time it gets to 32hz.

    the amp needs to be under load for an oscope.

    sorry to doubt you man but i still think its clipping. did you scope the amp with the sub hooked up? max bass boost usually means serious clipping.

    obviously you dont compete and are too inexperienced to understand how crazy this is. and thats fine, but keep you mouth shut. i would be VERY insulted if i put in all the work to get a score like this off of an 8" sub and someone told me it was pointless.
