Previous testing did show the DC light to be a little innacurate, so I agree with Derrick on that. Alpine, I'm aware the gain is not a volume knob, but setting up the system using the dd-1, step by step, by the book, allowed me to increase h/u unit volume and gain with no distortion light. I'll just black out the clip indicator lol.

Before tuning with the DD-1, my H/U was at 32/35 and gain just under half, set with an oscope. My clip light would flicker a bit full tilt. After DD-1, my H/U is at 34/35 and gain barely over half. But now, my clip light is almost constant solid at full tilt. Sounds louder and deeper, but gets me nervous. Explain?

Got mine today too. My Kenwood (x794) distorts at 34/35. I was able to add some gain to my 5k as well.

Heres my suggestion. Run the front rcas from your headunit to the 360.2, you'll need to y-split them to get 4 channels. The 360.2 will allow you to BP the mids and HP the tweets. Output from 360 to your 4 channel. Now run the rear rca's from the head unit directly to a 2 channel amp. If the amp doesn't have a BP option, use the low pass set to around 300. You'll then need a simple HP crossover in-line to cutoff freqs below ~8 0. Subwoofer rca's to the 360.2, then to the sub amp. If you get a processor with more channels (Bitone, MS-8 ) you can run all your speakers through it before the amps. Ray is the man you need to PM. He helped me out a lot. Him and Google lol.

Nice.. Are there spider options as well? Lets say, theoretically, somebody wanted a 3500 on each 10, experienced user, just not with Sundown. Reliable daily?

Not that I know of, did the surrounds/spiders tear on your xls? My xl's are just fine. Doing great. I have heard of high powered 10's having issues, though.

Whats more important to your friend? Performance or originality. The Shelby destroys the Dodge and Chevy, but I doubt you'd find a REAL Shelby under 30k. Also, it is easy to distinguish between a Mustang GT and GT500. Wheels, stance, body features, and markings. I haven't driven the Camaro or SRT-8, but my Mustang (2010) handles fawking great. Drift, legit road racing, drag, high speed autobahn runs (I had it in Germany for a year), whatever.

Those Eclipse were hittin pretty hard. I may need another demo from you now.
