yes it will give you more cubes per port square inch, not less port area total. Just flip em over, like i said you'll be dropping tuning some, which may or may not help you toward your goal.

For there to be any difference at all (though still only noticeable on the TL) then the paint would have to be glass smooth.

I want you to tell me how reverseing a sub, mounted nowhere near the port, lowers port AREA. I see it lowering port ratio, but in the end the port area per square inch of cone remains the same and you're pissing into the wind. All you're effectively doing is lowering tuning slightly by removing some of the box's displacement.

Look on audiosavings or sonicelectronix for somehing in the $75 range (around your budget i think) that has 2 woofers, 2 tweeters, and 2 crossovers all seperate from each other.

I have heard focal 6x9's. and for 6x9's they sound great. but put them up against any good set of components in that price range and they turn to shit. And you don't know much about midbass if you think 6.5" comps lack midbass... phasing is the killing factor most of the time, not size.

i've never heard a good sounding set of 6x9's in my life, and i've heard a lot of em.

What do you meter at? I've been considering a blow through 4 18 box = 150.x no matter where the meter is and the state of the doors @ 26 hz 2 18 box = 152 outlaw, 149 "legal" but it seems to get louder with both windows down, so maybe knocking on 153 (haven't metered that theory yet though) >> all at 45 hz

Check out AMI customs' walled ext cab chevy build. 4 15's on 2 aq3500.1d's that can break 160 outlaw. with more work and a little more wattage he could surely do the 160 sealed. (see fecupe's spl thread for ideas of how to test and tune for more output)

i smell nuthugging ITT. OP it's hard to compare the 2 as most of the output is in the install itself. THat being said, the single BTL in a PROPER enclosure will get down and sound just as good as the 2 x's in their optimum conditions.

no team dc derrick was just stupid (and by stupid i mean uncaring ) with his system dropping to 10's at the amp at full tilt. I can't take mine full tilt for too long. 30 seconds into the right song and i'm ready to puke onto my steering wheel or i'm just swerving all over the road (depends on which box i got in/peak frequency)
