  1. If you are mattign the entire car, i.e. interior panels AND outer skin there will be no use/benefit in using those disks. If it was "bare metal" behind the midwoofer, the disk would do the same thing/serve the same funct as the dynamatt. pick one and go w/ it. Both would be overkill/not needed, unless you just want overkill..I've done my fair share of that.
  2. yes. assuming you do a good seal job and push it in all the lil tiny cracks (like in that pic and w/ the lexo) it works just as well as dynamatt IMO, having used both & Cascade.
  3. Yup. And on the lexus I put in the member builds section. Just like Dynamat. I actually prefer Cascade VB-2 or VB-3 but this is cheap cheap. Back wall of my buddies 2006 Chevy 2500HD 4dr.
  4. "Just bought a cadillac...Throw some D's onit!" Personally...I'd still go with spinners despite the haters. Either that or some clean 22's-24's or so,5 or 6way split in chrome w/ a nice lip.
  5. Prolly a question you shoulda posted/asked BEFORE you ordered the sub? I dunno, IMO they are UGLY, and I have heard from a few people that the SQ is not the greatest but we are talking Fosgate power series subs here. Not a sub you buy for it's "killer SQ". Other than that, they WANG nicely.
  6. Nice BOX! :waaa:I feel cheated. I spose Zaps will do too. Nice job megz. (BTW Nudies are for those that can't get the LIVE VERSION) If only I was as successful at FINDING & pulling cute chickies recently as I have been at accumulating AUDIO biatches. damn near 30 subs and counting...3 ex-ladies and no currents. DEEEMNIT!
  7. On the 2nd one you can "see in the pic" (it DOES say just a sample pic...) and assuming THAT is really what it looks like, the OPEN END of the intake filter/cone will generate more noise and a "deeper" growl AND mean more surface area/more airflow than if the other one has a sealed up end cap/plate. In either case you better do your exhaust too and hopefully some other mods to the motor or it could do more harm than good. More air...same fuel? same exhaust? no good. Myself and numerous folks I know w/ hondas have had mixed success w/ CAI's on honda/acura's. The 6cyls are more tolerant IMO but the 4 cyls really require some tuning and not this "out of the box" "slap it on and go" idea as advertised as "bolt on performance". ~2cents.
  8. <--Raises a whiskey to the SMD Bday boys (& girls? ) ¡Salúd! Kampai! & FOCKIN MOZALTOV!
  9. Congrats dude. Hopefully ur into the kind of stuff that makes being legal a "big deal" I dint start drinkin till i was 22 and then oh-gawd HOW I NEVER STOPPED. I hope at least by the end of the night ur fingers smell funny and you are permenantly missing one article of clothing. Be safe out there too deeemnit :ranting2:!
  10. Do you know a website that has multiple box designs? & INFINITE too even. SOME help. If you are lost amidst THESE links...PAY someone to design/build your box. http://www.caraudiohelp.com/custom_car_aud...audio_boxes.htm Some pre-thought out designs by "some guy" http://www.caraudio.com/forum/showthread.php?t=137804 Some programs I DLed WAAAY back and have never even tried but..maybe? http://www.ajdesigner.com/speaker/bcb.php A "wicked looking" BANDPASS design.. http://www.decware.com/whorn.htm Some other stuff... http://www.carstereo.com/help/Articles.cfm?id=27 http://www.caraudiohelp.com/newsletter/fib...lass_layers.htm http://www.caraudiohelp.com/newsletter/fib...lass_layers.htm Ok i'm done.
  11. It's called a "choke point" It compresses the air moving around/through the port at that point thus INCREASING port air velocity. It basically "loads" the horn, aka makes the air wanna go KA-BOOM out the end of the flared/angled port mouth. It's like focusing an air stream...the pressure will be noticalbly greater when you're forcing the same amount/volume of air thru a smaller or "choked" port/vent/slot. Make sense?
  12. I knew that was comin...hahaha. ONCE again...PWNED by the O.G. I never met her but I guess the guy "manning the knob" on the podium when it was the PPI-Mobile was her son. I heard the "Mark Fukuda story" after the fact and was like "OH MAN! That is the best sh*t EVER!" Exactly the kind of PWNage I like to see...only too bad Fukuda punked and backed out that year like a lil bitch. All i ever hear is how cool of a lady she is and her actions seem to speak louder than her...truck!
  13. Sanding is NOT optional IMO. When painting factory plastic interior/trim pieces, Sanding MUST be done in conjunction with the use of adhesion promoter. Car manufacturers put a "non-stick" FINISH and COATING on all the plastic/interior parts so that when your kid/baby/girlfriend/wife/etc SPILLS soda/lipstick or WHATEVER THE HELL on it, it won't stick and will clean up easier. First you thoroughly sand off the FINISH, and by doing so will remove any "anti stick additves" from the surface. Then you should use the adhesion promoter because the same guy that invented the non-stick "coating" made sure that if the plastic was "scratched" or "gouged" if would still be non-stick by using a SPECIAL PLASTIC that has the non-stick additive IN IT. So, sand it good. Wet sand or otherwise just get it at least 220-400grit smooth. Clean it well/degrease n such. And then use adhesion promoter, primer, and clear-coat it whenever possible. Thats how I did my door handles and center/gearshift trim piece.
  14. I liked it better when it was not jbl. The kicker/L7 setup was pretty cool but i never got to hear that one. The shop my bro works at was the only PPI dealer for hella miles round here and at one of the year end sales the Bronco was sitting in the front of the store. ***They had to get signed permission/waivers from the surrounding buisnesses and warn em not to call 911 when it sounds like an earthquake*** At that time it was 64-PPI Pro-Flat Piston 10's, and I think 32 amps. Pretty sick and VERY LOUD, even back then it had the world record in the 164db range, it just got louder every year after that.
  15. Damn Steve I knew you were "old skoo" and been puttin it down fer a while but DAAAAMN! <--THE SAME daaaaaaaamn from the end of the eye popped out video of course! I now know HOW O.G. Mr. Meade really is. Props on them vids that is def Ganksta sh*t kickin it w/ 40/2pac. Lovong the civic-the 90's were when I started gettin into rides period-My bro was about to turn 16 and get his 1st ride-my first install project, and yes, those were some fun/ineresting and CRAZY times.
  16. aawww no cheatin mayne! and sadly i have no TL...but steve does :shiftyph34r: & he's local to me :whistling: i could build it and get him to meter it for me along w/ my ride for the "Got proof" thread. I have been TL'd before just no pics of it and not for a year or 2. So yea, gimme some rules and I'm down.
  17. ..."Sound pressure levels exceeding 172.5db..." Was Alma Gates there? If not who pulled that ##?
  18. Post a pic of the cracked part so i can be sure ur not talkin bout the trim section of that switch assembly. If you really mean the selecter part it's just the button/tab you push on and i dunno how you managed to crack that part. If you can post a pic I can find you that part. Gen 3 Integra FTW.
  19. Most buicks and olds (lesabre/century/ park ave) need a "peripheral" unit. Like a "converter box but w/ the plug conversion from stock radio to delete the bose amp setup and get the correct signal. I am looking at one for my buddies Lesabre. I been slacking on gettin the info on it cuz he's waiting on his taxes to be done and his return to come back. I will get you part number/link or both as soon as i have it. I bet Ray knows already. :whistling: You can check Metra.com or P.A.C.'s website. they do install kits and peripherals and adapters.
