I think ur current box is whats killing your overall output and sound. I would try a few things by modifying what you have before you rip it all out a try some more drastic measures/cost ur self more $$$. 1st: I closeup/seal off the rear firing ports and run it sealed. If you don't like how it sounds that way... 2nd: I'd say chop up ur rear deck as much as you can and get some proper sized ports, firing through the rear deck/sealed off from the ass end/trunk, while keeping the current box with those Kickers. 3rd:If THEN you're still not happy with it, you can still go with your previous idea but at that point you have a better reference of what a few more setups sound like with minimal work, so you can compare what ur hearing (and are not happy with) to a "different" sound. It's tough to finally settle on a setup in ur ride if you have only had it one way and that was "the big leap" from zero bass...it might not be that great right now, but since it's all you've had in there, you might not realize the room for improvement...or what kinds of changes will bring about the results you're after. The more experimenting you can do the better and that would def cost less than a whole new setup.

x2. i'd add maybe consider BL's some lower power subs if you only have 2k rms to throw around. glass the whole ass end/hatch below windowline and you should have 8~10cft if ur lucky.

Displacement refers to the amout of air the woofer basket and magnet will "displace" or take up inside you box. -imagine the air in a sealed box was water...as you put something in there like a sub, some water would spill out/overflow. ...or be displaced.

I was actually pointing out that A COMMON CHAMBER would be best in this case...thats why you would WANT to cut those holes in the inner dividers if they were there. It may be a common shmaber already...not all prefabs are the same...I hope it is, there's nothing wrong with common chamber enclosures...there's even some debate over it helping. I was just bustin ur balls on the saturn/,music choice..but yea please no more PR.

Looks decent for what it is. Prefab FTL...however-part of the inherent shittyness of that box can be overcome by a determined muther F-er with a jigsaw and some earplugs... The box is POORLY designed...it has 3 chambers, all nice and divided by the same 1/2" mdf that the box is made out of...but the genious box designer put the "dividers" in line with the "shoulders" of the box, and they go straight back/perpendicular to the box face/panel that the MIDDLE sub is mounted to...making the middle chamber cube/box like and the 2 outer enclosures much smaller due to their slanted face panels... so that the MIDDLE chamber is like almost 2cft, and the 2 side chambers are less than 1 cft each....BRILLIANT! The "easy" fix for this is to get some earplugs, a jigsaw...stick ur head and jigsaw in there through a sub hole (all subs out of course) and cut out the centers of those dividers, essentially turning them into "interior perimeter braces" (I would leave about 2" all the way around) Never use Pretty ricky as a demo song again. EVER. maybe find a camera with better mic...unless that really is maaaad distortion in which case eeeeewww and I feel sorry for your ears, enjoy much more hearing loss than if it was loud clean music. I'm not a saturn fan, but it's not my ride so kudos on having something in there. Everybody gotta start somewheres and ur off to a decent start it seems. Finally- Did you install it in the car?

Well....as long as those are INTERNAL dimensions....ur lookin at 5.671875cft....that's 2.8359375cft per sub... not really enough for a ported setup w/ 2 woofers...maybe 1 ported.....so I'd say sealed as well....that and I actually prefer the sound of sealed boxes. So +1 sealed.

Wish I had the $$ to play with these.... Considering amat85's almost mid140's w/ 2 RE SE10's & 1200watts in a 5cft ported box....these mugs got some serious PO-TENTIAL in a proper box and around 2k rms.... Bump for a fun "it can't be done" project waiting to happen.
