I would have to agree on the jbl's over many other speakers in the same price point range, awesome vocals, kickass bass response and overall a damn great speaker for it's price point. Had i not got such a great deal on some hertz i would still be using the ones i had.

Speaker question

Don't get 4" speakers as you'll only blow them again, get some good 6.5's in the doors and you do much better. -

You'll need a completely different enclosure, possibly a t-line, aperiodic bi-chamber or a 4th order or 6th order but not sure on how wide each one is capable of playing

How many batteries do you have? Get a DMM and check the actual voltage before relying on that volt meter as it may be off.

speaker popping caused by RCA?? HELPP
Skullz replied to R3nOSlaPP's topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring
Does this happen on only one amp or both amps? Do you get any popping or other noises from the amps with the rca's disconnected? Try one amp at a time and see if something is going on with the H/U or possible rca patch cord to that amp. If your getting scratching noises it sounds as if a speaker wire is grounding out on the body by being pinched or cut. Check everything out and make sure nothing is pinched or cut on your rca's and speaker wires. -
need help with running rcas
Skullz replied to KevinMowens's topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring
If your 4ch amp has outputs on it then use those to go to your sub amp and use the built in pre-amp for crossover settings, you'll lose any control you have at the H/U but it will let you hook it up without having to run more rca's. If your amp does not have output's then you'll have to split one of the rca's to go to the sub amp. EDIT: Use the front split for the 4ch and the rear for the sub and you'll have sub control from the H/U. -
Need opinion on an alternator
Skullz replied to Jessica's topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring
Best thing to do is hit the car forums and see if they make the same style of alt in larger amperage sizes from other models cars that are direct fit. I have a 95 dodge neon that has a 90a alt but the one from a 2001 pt cruiser is a direct drop in with the same plug and is 130a for roughly the same price. -

Bad location in the back of the doors. Use the stock location and modify it if necessary to get them to fit and get the tweets up near the sail panels if you have any or in the A-pillars.

Need opinion on an alternator
Skullz replied to Jessica's topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring
How about this math, $60 a pop every year for said oem alt you'll be replacing again and again vs. a $400 alt you'll buy once and probably never have to replace again cause it can do 100% duty cycle where as your oem can not. -

check with singer alts, mechman, dc power to see if they make one for your car and how much they cost. Singer will most likely cost the least of the 3 but you'll want to get quotes from each to compare. -
Shits real, dude got rocked for sure. That will teach people to not get out of your damn car on a freeway unless your on the shoulder and even then watch for cars.

Glad to hear it man. -
Blowing rockford amps aren't cheap to fix and will cost quite a bit to repair, why people have a fetish running below rated ohm loads is taking a chance on blowing subs and amps for no reason other than being to damn cheap to buy another amp.
