  1. i do but im not tellin you'll need to pm ndmstang for that ok will do. edit: whole thing behind this, I have my two new dc lvl4 15s in and love them(can hit every note with them from 27hz to 80hz, and they absolutely wang 32 and below), but i know because of how i am i will want something new in a month or two which is right when grad money comes in (not scholarships and grants, money from family and friends). Will probably sell my DCs, maybe the AQs even though i love them (i like the BC3000) and do a high powered 18 in a low tuned box that murders lows, like 28hz. ill probably have about 2k for 1 18 and an amp, and the box build which should only be like 100-150 in materials).
  2. Yea, someones designing me a box, im gonna make it right. And I kinda already included selling current stuff I have into it so I really dont have any more to spend. Thanks for noticing tho. I might get a partial refund or store credit for the fried subs (since the subs im returning still look brand new, idk what theyre gonna do with them, use the outer parts?) And dont worry I will try and make sure I do it right this time lol. Unfortunately.. the amp will have to be later and a battery now.. But is it completely necessary i get one of the monster batterys? or would any of the cheaper ones work. Yea.. prolly just gonna use my current one since its 2500rms @ 2 ohm (until someone buys it) then might have to upgrade but hopefully I can find cheaper or a good condition used one. Also need a battery to decrease my voltage drops.. so will def need to save for that first Btw im gonna get an AA Mayhem 18" If the amp your talking about doing 2500rms at 2ohm is the PA BAMF, then you would notice a huge difference buying a AQ2200. I'm willing to bet that BAMF is putting out about 1200w at 1ohm, max... You are terribly wrong.. first off its in my sig, the gothic series 5500w. very similar tho, and it definatly puts out 2k+ rms @ 2 ohms.. because I just fried the fuck out of my 2k rms subs. altho if i had time to finish makin the new box it prolly wouldnt of happened. But yea all you hear is good things about the aq2200 so it will definately be in the back of my mind, but I gotta make due with what I can for now. Im already tryin to sell the amp I have now. **If someone has great advice on a battery lmk. I understand ideal im gonna need a better more expensive battery, but I wanna know how low its safe to go (CHEAPER)** overpowering isnt the only thing that fries subs. And that gothic series is way overrated, it doesnt do 2.5krms, fyi.
  3. also, anyone know a price quote of the SMD18? (me like) also i will contact AA.
  4. im a groundpounder low tuning kind of guy. Numbers are fun but in reality, air movement and brutal lows is what i LOVE. I like the idea of the SMD too, does it like smaller enclosures? (i have about 11cubes to work with hehe)
  5. That could be an option but major electrical upgrades will need to be done. The xl 18 has really gotten my attention along with the crossfire xsv2
  6. There might be a few of threads like this but I want to ask. What are some good 18s on the market right now that can handle and do well on 2-3k rms? Box size is irrelevant and so is budget
  7. coils read .2 to .1 off usually, and there can be internal resistance in a dmm. When i put the positive and negative prongs together it reads 1.1 ohms. So when i wire to 2 ohms, it will say 3.1 ohms. fyi
  8. ok cause i was looking around the site, and thought it was just someone doing reviews, thanks again.
  9. thanks man. havent really been able to find anywhere that sells Vinyl Nitrile CCF, but would one of these be comparable to it(a substitute)? you mean this? http://www.sounddeadenershowdown.com/products/ccf do they sell it? no contact info anywhere.
  10. thanks man. havent really been able to find anywhere that sells Vinyl Nitrile CCF, but would one of these be comparable to it(a substitute)?
  11. X2 on foam. Dynamat and other company's make a closed cell foam that works well for this application expanding foam, or the actual foam? and i cant screw the panels back on or anything like that, because my truck is in suck nice condition (i refuse to f*** up how it looks.
  12. ok, and earlier n8 told me about how bad the snaps in the back are and how they basically break no matter what(16yr old plastic). so how would i reattach the panels that do that?
  13. How do you keep the inner plastic panels from rattling, its not really because of the metal flexing, its the pressure in the back from the port up. The B-pillars, back of the cab that i think has 4x6s in it, sound like there slapping on certain hard hitting notes. If i have to take them off thats fine but i want to know a little before i go into it.
  14. You can most likely run up to 1krms on stock electrical with no issues of voltage drop.
