  1. That sucks man. My advice as I tell every man. Learn to work on your own car, it'll save you in the long run. Why pay somebody to change a filter, unscrew a bolt, and change your oil. Same goes for your filter, alternator, and starter. Sorry for your lose on those tires. Go geta 4 way and a rachet set. Then go at it!
  2. I have mine in about 3.8 cubic ft. It's small due to my trunk being a jerk with the trunk lids arms. It's tuned to about 36Hz and slams pretty good. May tube to about 37/38 next go round in the truck.
  3. Get a DMM and check your voltage at all points. Also check your RCAs or try another pair, it could be getting a dirty signal
  4. I agree. However I would wait until he runs out of the current stock and starts selling the AQ 3500.1 which is due late December, thats what I plan on buying in feburary. Here is a quote from CACO
  5. Looks good Jacob. The size seems alot smaller than the SAZ version.
  6. Wow 400 bucks for 1000rms? Lol. That's entirely too much, I don't care if it is Rockford Crapsgate. For 400 you could easily get a 2000rms amp, which is what you will need to get the BTL moving. 1000rms the DC and BTL will laugh at the attempt lol. My advice buy a used amp, and go from their. Also check out knukonceptz good decent wire cheap.
  7. look goods. I like this design better than that old thread about the level sixes. This one looks nice.
  8. it's still good to let him know though. The SSDs sound great on 600 or 1K. It gives him room to grow also if he plans to upgrade. But once again the Fi gets my vote
  9. I had 2 12 SSDs a while back. I loved those damn things. Had 2 L5s before them, and when I switched to the SSDs they sound so much better and IMO the better overall sub. Also I had about 2K to them and they took them like a champ. Their clean and very smooth sounding with the right box. Their also underated and their recones are easy to get compared to *cough* *cough* Kicker *cough*.
  10. About time AQ! Looks good. Still wished it had a professional look and a flash enabled banner with a highlight of the products at the top.
  11. Great job man. On the grade and the idea of going to college. I finish my AA there a few months ago in drafting and design. About to go back next month to different school to get my BA and MBA. How is that tuition cost, cause that ish is high! Lol
  12. From what I heard is that a 8" would be impossible because of rubbing or something like that.
  13. I would check all your grounds (make sure their sanded to bare metal), swap your RCAs with another, or your grounds on your deck outputs may be loose. Try grounding them at the deck. My subs made a popping noise when I switched songs, grounded the RCA's at the deck, and I never had it again.
  14. Sounds like your amp took a dump IMO maybe switch them out with someone else amp
  15. I would never mount a amp on top of a box unless your have rubber shoes between the amp and box. Even then I wouldn't do it. But If your looking into a BTL that's the wrong sub to look into, that's a SPL sub, but the Q, or two, would get down and sound excellent while doing it in the right enclosure built right ( do not buy prefab period.)
  16. Personally since it seems like your doing most of the planning, or the just the thinking in terms of business I would do 60/40 split. Unless their contrubuting alot more than just being friends. But hey its a good start up, but I would also put what you actually do on the back of the shirt also. (installs, box building, etc) Looks good though, nothing like word of mouth. But dont charge to low, and do private prices. In the sense where you give different prices per constumer and tell them keep it private. I found out personally that everyone wants the sam d*mn price regardless. Also put a number and a email down along with the services. Good luck! Edit: Also watch the license thing also. Dont advertise too much, keep it word of mouth until your ready to buy a license. If not prepare to be FINED lol
  17. Damn mannnn, I would love to try these, but then again I love my AQs. What their rating (even though I know its underrated) and how much is a recone kit
  18. x2 on the pix. However it surprised me Kicker still doesnt sell a recone kit....meh
  19. It sound like a signal issue. Take out the DC and check the coils just to be sure. But its sounds like your RCA are getting a bad signal. But first try grounding your rca's at the deck or someplace if you can. If its a pioneer deck (which are notorious for having loose RCA grounds), then Im sure its your issue. IF that does not work try switching out the RCAs with another.
  20. As in split in half? If it just came loose you should be able to solder it back on. But then again Im not to familiar with Kicker subs.
  21. Get a DMM and go to work. check every possible location, and see. Hell I even forgot to turn the sub on from my deck one time and thought the amp was fried. Im guessing maybe RCA's or low voltage.
  22. The copper will take about 2500rms and the aluminum about 3K. As far as burping Im guessing a little more. But I would never put that much on them right out of the box. However I did read about someone burping with a Sundown 3500D with the aluminum coils.
  23. What knob are you using? One shouldve came with the amp, if your talking about the gain knob.
  24. True. A little clipping wont hurt at all, just turn down the volume when it happens. But then again clipping can be caused by a bad signal from the amp
