  1. i think if your budget is $400 you should look into the aq2200. does 2200 @ 1 ohm. about $420 to your door. at least then you have a warranty
  2. If you had the 15s in a common and the 12s in a common chamber it would be okay. But kepp the two chambers seperate. It looks like your design has a 12 and a 15 in each chamber. That would work, but it won't last long. The 12s will get abused by the 15s. Even with the same power, cone wins.
  3. id say either a honda civic, toyota corolla, dodge neon, nissan sentra. it depends how you define "great mpg". if your looking for 20+ then that may open the doors a little more. off the top of my head those are the cars i came up with though.
  4. do you want to get into installing or into working for the corporations? most of the mainstream companies have their major offices in california and all the product is produced in china. unfortunately those are probably the most likely to get you the best money. but most likely youre going to end up a desk jockey unless you go to college and earn an engineering degree, then you may get into more of the design side of the industry. it all boils down to where you want to go and what you want to do
  5. ^^^^That's the only thing I don't like about putting the box in the spare tire well. I'd build a box for the hole behind the wheel well. Use mdf for the front top and bottom and fiberglass the back. Just my opinion though
  6. damn im glad to see a thread like this finally. i hate trying to read through some of the junk people type. take pride in using the english language instead of destroying it with poor grammar. that doesnt mean be a smart ass and use "old english", obviously the language is going to evolve but right these last few years our language has been destroyed because of "computer talk". hell the other day in the mall i heard some kid say lol lmao. seriously??? /rant
  7. Whoa. That's insane. But I think I've seen a design kinda like that before. Idk how you would calculate that though
  8. I picture almost a 6th order design with one chamber having two ports.
  9. Go to the12volt.com and look up the sub wiring diagrams with 3 subs at whatever ohm you think and then parallel/series each set of 3 together. That's how I did my 6 10s. With dual 4s I wired each set to 6 ohms and then parallel to 3 ohms
  10. we need a slo-mo of your avatar haha. to the op, good news that your making a center console style box. in my 92 c/k standard cab i built a box for behind the seat so that the seat went all the way back and have very little depth. a 10" cvr barely cleared
  11. awesome news man! are you doing a box behind the seat? these should pound pretty good in that truck. for good subs!
  12. i would find a way to utilize the factory seat belt mounts for the rear and then bolts with big washers for the front side.
  13. it could be that just one voicecoil got burnt so it may only be playing on one coil.
  14. i know that ken (forevrbumpn) has a way to realign magnets but if its cracked idk what you would do to fix it. thats shitty that a guy would sell something like that for close to retail.
  15. Resin the box works. Or I used latex based primer, usually killz. And it soaks up the first coat but second n third have no issues. Then paint the bish and your good.
  16. Thank you steve. I'm at the store now haha
  17. Is a 1/2" spiral cut best for sub cut outs
  18. Depending on which brand you go with 6 cubes would be too small ported. I'd do 1 cube per sub minimum. 8 10s would look sick. And that's why in a couple weeks ill have 8 10s in my car haha. I've got all my subs now I'm just waiting on my return. 8 10s>2 18s cone wise. With less box too Edit. You could use aero ports too. 3-4 6" aeros would prolly be enough. But double check that in a calculator. Aero ports are less displacement then slot ports and yield better numbers in calculators I've noticed. So that may be the way to go if you port it
  19. glad to see you finally have the yukon back man. it sucks all the shit you went thru but at least youve still got it and can go cruisin again
  20. Linky these are the rings i use. ive used knukonceptz rings, stinger and these raptor ones. i have no trouble gettin knu fleks 1/0 to fit them and seem to work good.
  21. Thats an awesome video. Its unfortunate that so many businesses like his are closing down these days.
  22. I've heard that aq hdc3 18s love the lows. Now personal experience though. For $310 shipped its not bad
  23. sorry to hear this man. i wish you and your family the best of luck.
