15amps for a single battery is optimal charge rate. You are correct Hunters21w. The intellichargers will increase and decrease the charge current depending upon what the battery needs, but it will not go over the amperage you have it set to. The 5amp setting will charge it up, but will take longer. The 25amp will charge it up faster, but will not get a good deep charge while charging one battery. 15amp gets a good deep charge while still charging at a good rate and not taking forever. The 25amp setting is better when charging a couple of batteries or more, because you are dividing the amperage between the battery bank. It also work best for the racers that need to charge their batteries quickly between each race.

Thanks from da Ninja

Thank you man!! If it wasn't for those depending on XS Power we wouldn't be here!!! Always good to get out and show some support to those that work and put in the time working on their systems. We will see you all out there at the next show. -
S vs. D series
Nathan @ XSpower replied to Trey_Dog650's topic in XS Power Batteries / Chargers! (and other stuff too)
S and D 12V batteries are the same exact battery. S comes with posts and a red decal. D comes with a blue decal and hardware for ring terminals. When you get to the 14V and 16V the S is lighter and has less reserve capacity. -
XS D3100 Handle Broke...
Nathan @ XSpower replied to mnrookie's topic in XS Power Batteries / Chargers! (and other stuff too)
I have handled I dont know how many hundred D3100 with the handles and haven't had an issue myself, but I have heard of a few different people that said they have had issues. -
Voltage regulator
Nathan @ XSpower replied to TRON's topic in XS Power Batteries / Chargers! (and other stuff too)
If it wasn't for a long period of time, then you are probably ok. if you damaged it due to the high voltage the battery would probably be hot and you would smell a sulfur smell from the battery. -
What's This?

There are a lot of shady manufactures in AGM batteries, but some of the manufactures in lithium batteries are politician shady! -
What's This?

We got into the lithium battery market for a little while, but decided it is not something we want to deal with right now. There are a lot of variables with lithium batteries and their safety. This has been widely televised here lately with the issues in electric cars and the lithium battery issues in the jets. So, we sold off the lithium side to be able to spend more time on our AGM batteries. Lithium Pros uses our empty shells to build their batteries. If you are looking for lithium, then I would suggest going with Lithium Pros because they actually put a battery safety system in the lithium batteries. It balances the cells in the battery, and protects from over charging. If you put too much current into a lithium battery it can blow up very easily. Example would be you have one in your car and you have something that drains the battery down. Then you start it up and your 250amp alternator pours 250amps into the dead battery........... Lithium is a lot lighter, but it also lightens up your wallet. Would be looking well over 10K for a lithium battery that could do what the D3100 does in power. That is if you can get a company to make you one. There would have to be a serious battery management system in the battery for it to be used in car audio, because of the deep discharge and then rapid recharge. For instance you can not actually conduct a CA test on a lithium battery because it will kill the battery. So, basically let it run down and then charge it up like you do your AGM batteries and you would see a lot of money go up in flames! That is also a reason why a lot of racing sanctioning bodies are actually outlawing lithium batteries until the technology catches up enough to make them safe. -

Dealer Appreciation Give Away!!! http://www.facebook.com/xspower There are a lot of giveaways for end users, but we want to show some appreciation to the dealers that work so hard for our industry!! Do you have a dealer that goes above and beyond what they should do to help you out? Do you have a dealer that keeps you coming back to them, because they give you great customer service? Well if you do, then nominate them for an XS Power Dealer Appreciation Give Away!!! Just tell us who the dealer is and what they do to take care of you. This can be a mobile audio dealer, performance shop, marine dealer, or off-road/UTV dealer. This can also be a local brick and mortar dealer or even your favorite online dealer. Here is the kicker……….. they do not have to be an XS Power dealer to be nominated or to win!!! We will take nominations through the end of February and then will choose the dealer that will win the March XS Power Dealer Appreciation Give Away! The winner will not be chosen by just the number of nominations. We will look at the service they are providing and the feedback from you the customers. So, go to the XS Power Facebook page (www.facebook.com/xspower) and nominate your favorite dealer. If your dealer is already nominated, then just go ahead and nominate them again along with your feedback and story about the dealer!

Batts for 6k
Nathan @ XSpower replied to CstrokerV's topic in XS Power Batteries / Chargers! (and other stuff too)
The D7500 is a lot bigger than your Kinetik you currently have, but it would give you plenty of power for sure. Without having a HO alt I would say you need to have extra capacity to pull from, so a bigger battery is going to help you out a lot. What was your voltage falling to with the 5100 and kinetik on the 5k? -
I am just letting you know from experience and testing that a Group 31 battery that is new and costs $60 will not provide you with the power you are expecting. If it is a Group 31 battery it should weight at least in the 70lbs range. If you look at the lead prices over the last year and look at how much just the lead costs to build that battery (not taking into account the other internals, manufacturing costs, R&D costs, shipping costs, labor costs, and other costs), then it will give you an idea of what you are getting. Just something to think about. I am not saying there aren't cheaper options out there that you can go with, but in the long run you are going to pay more. You would be better off going with a Deka or Shuriken battery even, than spending your money on those batteries. Its your build and money though. Do what you think it best and what you will be happy with. Do not ever let anyone tell you what to use or how do do something in your builds! You can read and listen to people to get their opinions and experiences and then use that information to form your plan, but do not ever let anyone tell you what to use or how to do something in your build. You need to make sure you are doing what is going to make you satisfied at the end of the day!

Glad you made a thread in our section to ask if the D3100 will work when in reality you were planning to purchase batteries that aren't even designed for the "system" you are planning. If you are getting $60 group 31 batteries, then all I can really say is good luck. You can get about $10-$15 for a D3100 if you take it and recycle the battery. If a battery the same size costs $60 new do you really think it is going to do what you need it to do? If these are what you are getting then you probably do need 20+ batteries.

Secondary or Primary?
Nathan @ XSpower replied to TRON's topic in XS Power Batteries / Chargers! (and other stuff too)
If you are going to have two batteries in a system with one under the hood and one in the back, then it would be best to have your strongest battery in the back closest to the amps. -

Try doing the big three upgrade and checking all of your connections.
