  1. What equipment does he have/numbers does he do? I'm willing to bet you can get louder with two 12's
  2. doesn't the bass knob just turn the gain up to what you have it set to on the amp? don't see why he needs to remove it.
  3. halfway is a lot to me. also, how low below 35 were you playing? did you play the same song when you watched the woofer's excursion? and have you checked to see if they're in phase?
  4. I'm not sure what my stock alt is, but I never had extra batteries until after 1k rms, and I think most shops will try to sell you small batteries after ~600 rms. If you're going to do 2 gauge, do yourself a favor by saving time and money and go straight to 0. /.02
  5. You don't NEED fusing, even if you're doing it yourself. Just make sure your wire rating matches up with amperage, it's not laying on anything that could melt/tear it, and all your connections are good. If it was done professionally then thats your choice to have faith in whoever did it.
  6. Because the original wire was done by professionals in a factory, not some guy working on his car in his driveway. People make mistakes.
  7. Like the title says, does anyone know of any good USB recording systems? Something like My link. Looking at around 100 to 150 for a budget.
  8. interesting, it's neat how your mind can play such tricks.
  9. don't forget to design the trailer in the back to hold the 27mW's

  11. That would require cutting up your door, or making fiberglass panels. You could do that or order qlogic kick panels for your car that just snap in place.
  12. two on top, two on the bottom and one on each side is how I would do it if yours has that many, just remember if there's two big ones don't bend them at all, they clip into the deck.
  13. some people do it differently, I do it like that too, technically it's wrong because then it can just kinda slide out on its own in most cases. Mine sits at an angle and doesn't move so I don't bother with the extra effort.
  14. just slide it in like that without the headunit, and push down whatever tabs will keep it from sliding out(not the two big ones on the sides though) and then plug your head unit in and slide it in. I really hope this is what you're asking about, cus I'm kind of confused on what you're asking.
  15. You should DEFINITELY look at members builds and learn some stuff, I'm not baggin on you or anything, you said yourself you only really know companies and stuff. Don't just buy stuff and half ass the job, take time and research, ask a few questions here and there, people on here will help you out. And also having people install for you will cost a fortune.
  16. I thought Fi's were cheap But in the bigger picture, there are soooo many more factors that play in when it comes to sound quality and loudness. Everything from the amps, enclosure and even car. Unless he has a bad box, or overrated equipment, it's gunna be hard to get louder than him on the same cone area and less power.
