I would try to keep it as the as width of the port on the box if not a little bigger. The subwoofers will load off the truck differently with moving the box back and forth.

If this was me, I would contact mechman and order the biggest alt I could fit with a voltage boost module. That way for future upgrades you are set.

Im to poor to afford the old subs, so i will just window shop for myself lol.

If it was me, i would keep the alpine, and when you upgrade sell it, because you will get more out of the alpine than the hifonics.
