  1. Yes it will create a gas chamber so sent it to me! HAHAHA no sir that's 1 of the reasons why AGM batteries are used for car audio systems. You will be fine and good luck I hope this helps your system out!
  2. Nice fiberglass work, how do you like those PPI 8's? And I love that song! Mad props for "Put on" lol
  3. Once you figure in wattage, voltage, and all the other variables along with outside noise it's impossible to get an exact figure. Unless you are going for straight DBz I wouldn't make that the focus of your build. This is a hobby and a sport to have fun with, enjoy the build and then enjoy ripping it out and starting over again and again. You won't get it right the first time and if you do you'll still want to redo it lol. And feel free to ask and learn from all of SMD, we have all spent thousands of dollars and thousands of hours in cars
  4. Well then you need to figure out the distance that all of your speakers are going to be away from each other and the trajectory. Then figure out the frequencies each speaker will be playing. Then figure out the length of the sound wave of each frequency. Then at what point each frequencies wave will interact with each other to determine at what point they will begin to cancel each other out.
  5. Some one showed me this a while back http://www.caraudiohelp.com/newsletter/losing_bass.htm
  6. Rockford has a ship date of April, I figured by the time he was ready it maybe out. I know I want 1 for my suburban.
  7. Yes there are products out there that allow you to add amps and what not, Rockford Fosgates 3SIXTY.3 The new 3Sixty.3 interactive signal processor is the perfect solution for those customers who want to add aftermarket equipment to their factory source unit, integrate their mobile devices, or have complete control over their audio signal. With features like Bluetooth streaming, selectable crossover types and a USB interface, the versatility is endless.
  8. Man I want a wagon so bad, you can do so much with them. Ok now since it has the premium system what are your goals? It's easy to add a sub and amp, can do like a fiberglass, tucked away sub. Or do you want to replace the stock system with some Focal or Rainbow mids and highs?
  9. Give us an idea about what direction you want to go, like integrate a sub to your stock system. Or gut it and do some new mids and highs with an amp, so many directions to go. What kind of car is it?
  10. You had some serious stuff, Nakamichi was incredible from what I remember. I remember a guy had Nak mids and highs in a conversion van at a Iasca show in Salina KS. with like 6 kicker 10's. This was around 20 years ago, damn I remember dude had an Alpine 2 knob tape deck hahahaha. But back to your question are you looking to go serious sound quality again and spend todays value for what you spent back then?
  11. were the rockford fosgate headunits made in the US?
  12. I just think it's fucking cool and I'm not gonna hate on how that man did or does anything. He can eat coils all fucking day if he's setting world records... I know I'm jealous but instead of finding a way to hate i say CONGRATS!
  13. I actually have a couple sets of those focals sitting here for a home theater build, Cant wait to get them playing
  14. I think I seen some nice Cadence on Audiosavings.com
  15. I know you just dropped cash on a new alt but to maintain a 14.4 you will want to look at something that will make higher amperage at idle, as for companies you have Mechman, DC Power, Singer Alts. all great companies. At 2500 I'd do a 2 battery set up, 1 up front and 1 in the rear. As for those you have XS, Kinetic and my favorite the ole Optima yellowtops even though I get hated on for them. and thats my 2 cents
  16. Love my Singer Alt, Great customer service and he made me a custom 3g ford alt for 1/3 of what other companies wanted and it's fucking fantastic. I honestly expected less for what he charged. Under promised Over delivered.
  17. After that long it could be heat issue as well, also just don't add another amp without proper wiring and electrical upgrades. Also if your running a monoblock amp and you wire + to + and - to - on 1 sub then on the other the same way and they join at the amp you are at a 1 ohm load at the amp. I'm not sure I know of many 500.1's that can handle 1 ohm loads.
  18. Dude that wasn't a hair trick that was damn near a scalping! HAHAHA damn that looks VIOLENT! I so want a demo...
  19. Hmmm lets see you got an explorer to get loud... how about iboughtanexplorerandthealternatoroptionssuckassandi'llneed4tonsofsounddeadeningnow the short version is what i went through this week hahahah
  20. Well I'll give you an example of what is going into my wall, 6 sheets of birch plywood at around 45 bucks a sheet, 2 to 3 gallons of fiberglass resin at around 25 bucks a gallon, chop mat, not sure I have giant rolls of it, probably 15 10 foot 2x4's , tons of sand paper, bondo, paint, hmm probably around 400. I just got the design done so I haven't made a true materials list yet. I hope this helps and I'd look at a little more then 4k.
  21. I'm going to need to upgrade my suspension in the rear of my Explorer for my wall. I have been looking into different brands and prices of new rear shocks and I keep seeing these KYB Monomax shocks. I was wondering if they are any good? I don't use this vehicle for anything but to drive around and goof off, it is AWD but I have never went off road (only has the flex fuel 4.0 V6). So if you have any cheaper options as well that would be awesome. Thanks Larry.
  22. buy my 1200.1 hahaha, I'd go with 1 amp. 1 amp = 1/2 the chance of issues and I'd get sick of not having a bass knob, sometimes I like a little beat so only having the ability to turn it on and off would not work for me.
