us the alt bracket off a newer astro its on the right side of the motor. mines a 93 and its on the right

mine was doing the same shit and it idled like shit in park to. check the spark coming from your coil and see what color it is. mine was a yellow orange color. that told me i had a weak coil. i changed that out to a new 1 and changed the plugs, wires, cap, and rotor and it fixed it.
