  1. im just running the t1000.4 and the processors off that but for the two t2500 im doing it off the chassis well actually im doing two batteries in the back so the two t2500 can get the ground off the two batteries and the two batteries off the chassis with the big 3 Ok, let me see if I understand what you're trying to say here. You're gonna run two batts in the back, and ground those to the chassis. If this is the case, then why wouldn't you use the same grounding point for everything else? Just seems like a common sense thing to do - use the same ground for everything. It would help eliminate any possible grounding issues if everything was grounded together in the same location with a good ground point.
  2. You don't have $2 for a ring terminal for the ground? Wow. Oh well its your build, if you wanna half-ass it....its your choice. You're ignoring a lot of good advice from people who know what they're talking about.
  3. Nice amp...good power for the $. I've installed several for customers. Only two things I recommend - that power/ground wiring looks like 8ga...upgrade that to at least 4ga ASAP. You're robbing that amp of the power it needs. And second, lose the "steal me" sticker on the window. Besides those two things, it looks like you're off to a good start!
  4. Sorry to hear that your shit got jacked, but honestly bro...saying "I shouldn't need an alarm" is just ignorant. Its like saying "oh we don't need cops cuz people shouldn't break the law". You'd be surprised how many times my car DIDN'T get messed with just because of that little blinking LED and the Viper sticker on the window. Sure there are some people who will go after anything regardless of an alarm, but the majority of thieves won't touch a car with an alarm due to the fact that it attracts sooo much more attention. Hopefully you'll come to your senses and get a decent 2 way alarm for your truck.
  5. Fish, goto that page, and towards the bottom there are several T3 Audio products on a clearance sale...T3 used to be a site partner on here until...well several people have said different reasons, but from what I saw, the company disappeared practically overnight due to "running out of stock" and/or "retooling their product line"...their "comeback" was the bottle rocket of speaker companies...didnt last long and ended with a bang LOL
  6. I have to agree...man the fuck up. LIFE ISN'T FAIR. If you think your situation is so hard, the real world is gonna mess you up bad. It sounds like you need to get on your own insurance and quit doing anything money-related with family.
  7. My dad and I have an Ion USB turntable. I havent used it much yet, but I did find that its all in the software...some software isnt worth a shit. Do some research on the best programs to use. I was amazed at the SQ of the one we have...and yes vinyl does have a sound to it that no digital file can touch. Yes the digital stuff is "cleaner" but there's a certain tonal quality to vinyl that just can't be beat.
  8. Oh man...definitely having "amp envy" right now! I could kick myself for ever letting go of my Diamond Audio D6 600.4 that I bought off a friend for $150. It was only a week old when someone broke in his truck and stole everything except the Diamond amp, so he sold it to me for cheap to get the $ to fix the damage. I forget what he paid for it local...it was well over $500. That amp pushed 4 12s then 8 component sets in my first car...too bad I had a moment of stupidity and traded the Diamond amp and two Polk Audio db 12s w/ Polk ported box for 4 MTX Thunder 8000 15s, a MTX 1501d and matching 6104 4ch...
  9. You can tell from the video that the one guy whose property was "damaged" is definitely gonna lawyer-up and try to get rich from it. Was it a VERY close call? Absolutely. But is it right that the guy makes probably millions from an honest accident? Nope...but that's the country we live in. People are so damn sue-happy nowadays it makes me sick.
  10. hey steve, i see you mentioned beta testers...is there a possibility that i could be part of the beta testing, or is that something you have pre-determined. just curious. a lil off topic, i received my dd-1 last week as a birthday present, and i wanted to thank you for signing it. that was really cool! also, wanted to take a sec and let you know how pleased i am with my experience with this product. the dd-1 really makes me want to see what further performance & detail i can achieve with the equipment that i already own, as i am on a very tight budget. thats what is so great about the dd-1...you can spend a little and get a lot more out of what you own, the pride & comfort of knowing its done correctly, and the use of the product for years to come! keep it up steve! you rock! Bro, no offense, but do you REALLY think Steve would pick you to beta test? You have ONE post on the forum, and I'm sure that I am not the only person who has no clue who you are. Do you have anything to offer Steve in return as a beta tester? (Like a popular YouTube channel, etc.) Think about it this way...if I ran into you at a McDonalds and after saying hey, would you let me go test drive your new car? Didnt think so. I'm just being honest bro.
  11. Congrats/good job on the choice of getting a rescue dog...my parents got us one when I was like 6 and that was one of the greatest dogs ever...cost us an arm and a leg, but I'd do it all over again. About a little over a year ago, I bought my mom and dad a rescue pup...he's a black lab/chow mix I THINK but he was found with several other pups from his litter behind a dumpster soaking wet in freezing weather. Only 3 of 8 of the pups survived. I know this story so well because I was dating a girl that worked at the local animal shelter and I was at her work visiting when the pups were brought in. They were short staffed that day, so they had me wash up and help, and the pup I bought for my parents was the one I personally cared for that night. That tiny little 2 lb pup is now 80+ pounds of pup, but he's the greatest, and the whole story/experience just makes it that much better. My good friend also has a rescue pit, she was the runt of the litter and the previous owners were gonna kill her. That runt is now the only remaining dog from the litter since the others caught parvo and died. Funny how things work out. Good job Newls, you did the right thing! (sorry bout the long post)
  12. Now you're speaking my native language Steve! Very nice choice of hardware going in there...what's your impression of the Patriot DDR3? I recently did a build somewhat similar to this, but used 16gb of GSkill DDR3 and was very impressed with how far it let me push it. Where you get that H2O cooling kit? Anyways, lets get some benchmark #s! Good job!
  13. So let me get this right...your deck was stolen and wires cut, but they left your amp and sub. So you're gonna buy MORE stuff to potentially get stolen, THEN get an alarm? Wow...guess this wasn't a wake-up call/sign at all for ya...cuz I'd be buying/having an alarm installed before I put another cent into more equipment. Just my .02 cents tho.
  14. Nah bro he's dead and posting from the grave...come on learn to read! In his first post he said, "The pictures speak for themselves." In the same post was the car all fucked up. Even if it was the OP injured... say if he just broke a leg.. That doesn't mean that hed be "dead and posting from the grave." There are these amazing places called hospitals, which have doctors who are able to save lives and rehabilitate broken and fractured bones. Sorry for reading over the fact that it was Sam who crashed the car... God forbid me to ever do that again. I think it was pretty obvious that I was referring to the driver being alright. ...asshole.. Calm down there youngin...no need to get your tighty whities all up in a bunch. I was referring to the fact that IF you had read the entire thread instead of probably just skimming over it, you would have seen what the OP had posted about his friend. No need to be a prick. I see what you're saying, but do you expect me to fully read all the replies to every thread that I post in? We all slip, so chill out. I bet that if I went through your posts, I could find a slip from you too. Actually yeah you should read all the posts...thats kinda how a forum works. And I doubt you'd find many slips because I do take the time to read all the posts. Anyways, enough of this dumb stuff..back on topic. Can we get some pics of the sub out of the box? I'm curious to see how and where it broke. I know you said the basket broke and I would like to see.

  16. Nah bro he's dead and posting from the grave...come on learn to read! OP, glad to hear that your friend is okay. That looks like a hell of a wicked wreck and he is very fortunate to still be alive. Best wishes with any recovery from the accident and with getting a new ride/system! Also goes to show how strong DC's surrounds are..especially if the whole motor was hanging from it like you say it was. That's damn impressive
  17. Just goes to show the new guys...hard work and dedication can and will pay off! Good job OP! That's a score to be proud of!
  18. Good to see those 6s come back to life. I woulda cried if I had destroyed such an expensive set of rims! Now it definitely looks like the Rezcalade again...but I think that sick plexi box needs some SMDs in it!
  19. I noticed the error in the totals in the vid...but I just figured it was a typo. Don't sweat it though, you're doing the right thing and making it right by everyone. I kinda felt bad for the team 3 though...that poor old RF had no chance against two brand new 15s like the P3 and CVR (but then again neither did the side firing sealed box lol) Taking the hit and making it right by everyone just shows your character and shows you're a stand-up individual.
  20. I live in Dayton (east side/belmont area). Whereabouts do you live? I'm currently waiting on delivery of a Monte SS thats getting a couple grand in stereo equipment installed by me for a friend. I'll have the car for awhile so once I get it playing, I'll take it for a drive n let you check it out. My Caprice's system is currently removed as I'm rebuilding and upgrading..well..all of it.
  21. Well today we had planned on throwing a party...keg ordered, hundreds of dollars worth of fireworks, tons of food...and I just recieved a call saying that one of my closest friend's mom just passed away. She was like a mom to all of us. Needless to say, the party is cancelled. I feel especially bad for my friend because every year when people are celebrating the 4th of July, he will be reminded of his mom's death. R.I.P. Tina
  22. This is interesting, because my insurance agent (from Progressive) said I was liable for whatever happens when I am driving, regardless who's car it is. But I did talk to him back when I first got insurance and told him that I drive other peoples' cars often because of the custom work I do. So maybe he changed something for my policy. I know that when I got my DUI, I was driving my buddy's car and all of it went on my insurance.
  23. Ive had several sets of rims on my 89 Caprice...thinking about going to 24s but I'm saving for the proper lift I want and new front disc brakes and a drum to disc conversion kit for the back. My goal is to have it just high enough that it doesnt rub, but no higher. Its all personal taste. Do I think riced out imports w/ body kits are cool? No, but thats MY OPINION. I'm not a big fan of trucks with 18s and huge ass tires jacked wayy up, but does that matter? NO. because its my OPINION. People who hate either arent open minded, or jealous. If you don't like donks, thats perfectly fine, you're entitled to your opinion. I've had all kinda of feedback from my Caprice, some people LOVE it, and some people say the meanest shit. I don't let it bother me though, haters gonna hate no matter what you do.
  24. I have a 89 Caprice too...where'd you get those door panel speaker pods? Looks good bro keep up the good work and definitely post more pics! What are you using to charge all those alts? I'm rockin a Powermaster H/O Alt and I love it. And just a FYI, you can get that radio dash piece in matching wood grain. It took me awhile to find one, but I did and I'm really glad...makes a big difference in the looks.
  25. This is old news, but hey it happens to all of us sometimes. The cool part of this thread is that SMD is international and people like Dubpower can chime in cuz honestly I woulda thought 112 was their 911
