could be a blown speaker/coil on the amp sending it into protet mode. set your dmm to ohms and see what speakers are reading. i had this on a blown speaker once. at low volume it worked ok then once i turned it up amp went into protect mode.

if you havent made the box yet make the port side the last to go on that way its easier all round . I take it port is not on the same side as subs, so you will be able to get in through sub hole to seal the port panel

hmm not sure here as i used to have jamo house speakers and there port was cardboard tube stapled into the box.I suppose a bit of glass resin would make it seal better and look better after smoothing. If you have never done fibreglass before its easy a bit like paper mache, nice and messy

damn that sux but on the window tint thing here in the uk its an on the spot fine of £30 gbp and they remove it there and then (making a real mess of it too),But its only the drivers and passengers window they take off as all the rear is ok here. 25 percent tint max is legit here on front sides. As for noise a system like steve's would get a £300 gbp fine here it's if you ask me. just another way of makin them money

Thanks Guys i cant thank you enough for trying to help me out Taking into account whats been said i have looked into my amp and it seems bass boost is 45hz. head unit is a sony cdx gt31u and the bass control on it goes to +10 for the sub and upto +10 for bass/mids and trebs. Im going to oscope it with as many tones as i can now from here http://www.stompaudio.com/test-tones-c-6793.html Last time i oscoped the head unit @ 40htz i started @ 0 bass and could get max volume of 35 without clipping at all. I started turning the bass up and it started to clip @ bass 8 max volume 35. so backed the bass off to 7 and started setting the amp. Looks like im going to have to start all over with the settings
