  5. but if he has DSL there can have bad SNR on the line as well as distance from his local CO and his modem can be losing sync as well as not having enough bandwidth. Even with 1.5 DL at those speed tiers will have crappy UL speeds that as soon as tat 1.5 is used up the UL will struggle and you will lose packets. Their was a time DL meant everything but now a days UL is what needs to be addressed by most ISP's and their lame asymmetrical speed packages especially for online services like netflx. In the world of internet picture your home having an off ramp to and from the internet the bigger the road the more traffic can pass but overdo either your upload or download and it wont matter how many megs down or up you have your line will crawl. I have helped tons of friends online with there connection issues and they are all the same why am I lagging I have so and so's service and so many megs down and they fail to see how important the upload is.
  6. It depends if you have cable or DSL. You can try quality of service features within router/modem to the IP of the 360 to have high priority above everything else going in and out your home network. Limit everyone elses internet usage when your watching movies. What speed tier do you have if its a basic connection your house an easily saturate your DL and UL when more than one user is online so kind of a rule to look at is take your tier and divide it by how many computers are online thats a ballpark of what each computer is getting if not hogging bandwidth. So you can call your ISP to ugrade your speed and see if it helps.DSL is more prone to distance from a CO so your line quality as well as everyone else in the community bogging things down can limit your quality of service. Go to www.speedtest.net and see if your getting what you pay for, if your wireless to router /modem make sure your have wep or wpa wireless security enable so neighbors cant piggy back off your connection and take up bandwidth. If the 360 is wireless to router/modem reposition it or try wired directly to router/modem if its to far and you are using wireless G connection understand that for every 1ft wall you see the wireless signal can see a 3ft wall and that can lead to problems. The newer black 350 external wireless adapter and I think the newer black 360 are capable to communicate with a wirelsss N router to get better distance coverage and speed but they both have to be wireless N. with a cable connection thats easy just set up wirelsss N to ISP's modem and go from there if you have DSL you have to make the modem/gateway just a plain modem so when you hook a router into it the router is what does all the NAT handling if not you will get double NAT issues. Theirs a bit more you can do on your end but even then the chain is only as strong as its weakest link and it can be something on your ISP side sucking. We had cable but when we moved my wife misunderstood the operator and we ended up with a huge bill so we switched to DSL and unfortunately for us we are to far from a CO so we can only have regular speed tier and it sucks we are used to my 360 streaming HD or playing online wife on youtube my daughter on another pc on youtube and the boys all barneyed out on netflix on the wii lol. The connection we have dies instantly lol
  7. on output side http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_6655_Clarion-EQS746.html They should have made it to where you could push the dials in.
  8. I have the clarion eq and its very good just lower your amp gains since it puts out up to 7v through rca's. I left the dials centered but used a o scope to set the volume and sub knobs from clipping. Since I'm still learning I need to find a good spot for it since I put mine under dash and now I'm scared to bump knobs with my pants by accident and clip a signal.
  9. That was a very good reason Rob I would never have thought of that.
  10. They have a 180hp for my car but they told me it would be at its limits at 3000rms, and extra batteries would be needed.
  11. I would aim at saving a bit longer and getting the Alt first. If your stock alt can't keep up it might go out on you.
  12. correct also in another paperwork that comes with xspower batteries says not to submit them to 15v longer than five minutes.
  13. I can put my voltage up there too the car might be fine but my batteries are 12v batteries and from XSpowers instructions of never subjecting the battery to more than 2.4 volts per cell. 14.4v for 12v batteries I try to keep the voltage around 14.4 once car warms up.
  14. I love models Aside from that I'm curious to see your new products.
  15. I'm really liking the one sub setups right now, thanks for sharing.
  16. look at how many amps your system does pull by itself and if its more than what your alternator can support aside from what it was made for which is mostly your car by itself then call mechman or DCpower for what ever they recommend for you. Every install is different you could actually list the model of amp you have as well as the rest of if any electrical you have like big 3 or if you ran 0 gauge to anything. The more you tell us the more you can get help with. RMS if you are actually getting that means more than peak power.
  17. dude, who is that in your avatar? Jayden James!!!!!!
  18. I have done it like instructed on most sites but I have thought shouldn't EQ settings should be all the way up before setting gains, find where things clip then set gains. After that lower the bands that are to harsh. I'm noob so thats why I take these guys advice.
  19. He's probably looking at efficiency or his sub combination can only go to 2ohm.
  20. get the RF1500 thats what I would do. The S3400 is pretty good battery You will be fine with just that.
  21. If you have waited this long just put your mind to it and wait and save a bit longer and just get a HO alt. Patience is a virtue It took me 7 months to finally get my alt I noticed even with adding a second battery once my amps hit batteries up the stock alt just couldn't keep up with amps and trying to top off batteries. I played it safe and not bumped for awhile since I realized for my setup I ran through three stock alts. Every setup is different but I still think you should save up for mechman or DCpower alt. I can only speak of mechman that you will most likely get a mounting bracket made to help mount their alt to your car, and DCpower most likely does the same.
  22. The alt is very important don't skimp on it call mechman as well as DCpower and compare prices, amperage's and idle output, also keep in mind of any future upgrades you might want to do and go from there. Matt over at mechman answers the phone as well as Emails in a much more timely manner though. Good luck.
