I don't know what the point of this thread is? Wether or not to a 3-way or not? You luckily have a stock 3-way to start from which is great but, it doesn't sound like you have the knowledge to appreciate it. In that case stick with whatever you want. Active and Passive is like day and night and to take a attitude towards that seems pointless to discuss anything else you in depth. I Completely agree, don't toss around the SQ term around like it is just an accessory to your car audio system. SPL only covers 15% of the whole sound spectrum (80hz and below) as SQ covers the full spectrum including the "SPL" range.

Moe Thanks for jumping in and clearing some of this up. I would just like to see a well rounded finals is all. IASCA doesn't need to have its sq "finals" at each location but, at least have a 3x or 2x event. I went through the IASCA judge training two years ago and I know there are more than a few people here in Cali that qualify to judge SQ. Am I going to compete in SQ at finals, probably not but, this is just to have a well rounded car audio event. -
I went quietly, no kicking and screaming. Twilight series gets better every time. Still dont care for the first.

Finished up and back at the house (G-05 location). Reno/Spakrs are some good people to come out and support a good cause. Timmy and Ray good seeing you guys as always. To my fellow old man Rusty good seeing you and the wife, hopefully we can see you guys before we head back down to San Jose. Dale finally made a show of yours I will be seeing you in Upper Lake. -
Arrived in Reno last night. Just woke up and getting ready to head to a db drag show in sparks. Should be a fun show.

Man that was a fun trip.....Alpine can honestly say not everything that happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. I would hope to make it to C.E.S. again. We got our passes already but, seeing how it is going to be in the middle of the week I don't think I can time off for it. -

True but, doesnt mean you can have the sq format available. In all locations especially so cal i am sure there are sq competitors who wouldnt mind coming to a car audio competition. Kind of like the old school circuit city roadshows. -
