  1. you need to counter sink the holes for the screws to set them below the surface a bit, and use body filler to cover the holes. And just dont buy cheap ass wal mart screws, hit home depot and get some decent black drywall screws. And if you are stripping them you either drilled the holes to big or need to quit going apeshit when you screw them in. Ive never had that problem.
  2. I screw and glue all my boxes together, never had one come apart either. the strength comes from the glue really, pre drilling and adding some screws acts like a clamp while it dries, and I dont cheap out on the screws either, can't hurt to have them in there.
  3. Just scored a Sundown Zv2 18, straight traded some used Sa 12's for it. time to change the plans for the Lincoln

  4. Same as what was said before, unless you an experienced fabricator and welder, I wouldnt touch it at all, work around it. Typical in a vehicle there are no locations other than the factory location that will be adequate.
  5. Full goon status. Thursday night trashed session.

  7. No...the proto 2500s were strong as hell. The released version had problems because the build house fucked up a bunch THIS. Without firsthand exp. don't be a dick.
  8. If they are both reading the same I'd say you are golden, the odds of 2 diff. meters giving an identical, and off, reading has got to be almost impossible.
  9. Do you have multiple personalities or some shit man... cause a few posts up you just said he was all good, that its fine..now you say the opposite... wtf?
  10. So did you read my entire statement or just a sentence then quote it??.. and yes, air shocks can and have been used as an effective way to add payload capacity, there are several kits on the market that do just that, not to mention a bevy of mass produced units that have a form of air shock on the rear for the self leveling style suspensions, like what came factory on my wifes buick, and countless other GM cars. I also said that in his application it was not the ideal answer but would work. I then told him his best bet was to have a set of custom coil springs made. repeatedly.
  11. Nice! Yo stuff gonna sound great and lowd. that smiley makes me go cross eyed.
  12. +1, hell even throw a small ratchet strap around it. you def. want to secure it as best you can, god forbid, you get into a bad accident, but if you did, that battery just learned to fly. not good.
  13. 92, and I agree. I really didn't want to do bags, so I was needing opinions. Problem is I don't have the tools and noone around me can help (I've checked). I was originally going to get new oem springs and have them stretched but everyone said that was a bad idea. Stretching OEM springs is a TERRIBLE idea. and in your application would not help much if at all. To stretch a spring it gets heated up first, when u heat spring steel to that point it needs to be in order to stretch it, you begin to mess with the molecular structure of the steel and can change its temper causing it to be overly stiff and brittle. Not to mention it will negetively effect the spring rate and will not do anything in terms of increasing the payload capabilities of the springs. I am guessing it will be less than 300 bucks to have a custom set of springs made for your ride from a reputable spring builder. Def. is your best bet.
  14. I could flip it. We have a pay service to flip any and all phone numbers at work. and if you don't mind dropping a couple dollars you too can have it flipped, there are a few places that you can find online fairly easily that will flip phone numbers for you for a fee. You can also try sites like 411.com etc. But the free sites can't tell you squat if its a private number.
  15. Well, I'd say it's two older, fat bitches, that really enjoy the fruits of their labor in the kitchen. Some weird ass shows in other countries my man...
  16. custom coils would be his most cost effective and easiest route to take IMO. No lines, no compressor, no nothing but a set of replacement coils..easy and done in an hour if he has the right tools.
  17. then maybe the custom coil springs are your best option. Just do a quick "google" there are a lot of places that will make coil springs to suit your needs. probably be best to google and go with someone near by.
  18. Is your car struts or shocks in the rear? If it is shocks, you can find a pair of "air shocks" that you can run a hidden line to somewhere and add air to them with a regualr air line to increase your payload... Not the best solution, but a good one if it'll work in your application. There are also a couple places on the net in which you can order custom built coil springs that will fit your specific car, but have a much higher, stiffer spring rate... Thats all I got, hope it of help to you. Ill see if I can find you a link for one of the spring places.
  19. Awesome!!!! Props to you Hugh... all my dogs in years past were rescues as well.. That dog is gonna love you forever.
  20. Good luck on that... aint shit that goes on around here.Theres a car show cruise in type thing on Saturdays I believe down in Brunswick at the Laurel Square shopping center on Pearl rd... I know in years past there would be a few cars w systems there and a few times there were some dudes there with a term lab... but it is mostly hot rods and muscle cars down there, although there are a few tuners as well..
  21. before he dumps money on a battery he needs more runs of 0, he is trying to pull like 7000+watts (and a fuck ton of amps) thru 1 run.. He needs more runs regardless of his battery situation, or he will have voltage issues regardless IMO.
