  1. tuning is 29-30hz nice and low per sundown spec
  2. Here is the start of it, worked on her for 2 nights a few hours each night and this is the progress so far. only got a few pics, and video later to come. Box is for 4 Sundown SA-12s powered by a Sundown SAZ-3500D wired to .5ohms. Electrical will consist of 1 mechman 270alt, 2 xs power d3100s, and a smaller XS Power under the hood once it comes in.
  3. Id totally vote for the fi........ but the aq will handle so much more power.. your comparing a sub that can take thousands of watts and cheaply made, to a woofer in the same price range but one of the lowest model subs in fi's line up. Id totally start saving my pennies or whatever you have to do to get a BL or BTL
  4. SA subs are 600wrms woofers......... Its a tiny 2.5 inch coil driver. If you dont know what your doing with the subs you probably shouldnt put more power to them then what they are rated for. I have a build I did for my buddy with 3 SA-12s, on a SAZ-4500 at .66ohms. I also reconed them with the SPL coils to handle power a little bit better. But they still get rather warm if you beat on them for a good bit of time full tilt. Like I side, they are 600wrms subs.
  5. XS Power makes a D3400 that fits most GM SUV battery locations. To be certain, I would measure the height, width, depth of your current battery and then goto their website and find a battery that fits the measurements. http://4xspower.com/products/agm/
  6. lets not get carried away he's still a geek! only one brian? lol yea, just 1 to play with.
  7. yea, i was surprised seeing and fondling it in person... Im so use to the Mayhem 18s, and BTLs... Those dont have shit on the AA SMD woofer, its so monstrous!!! The threaded rod is an option, it comes with or without, if you order it with the mounting stud you are stuck with it since it does not unscrew. You would have to cut it off. The threads go thru the bottom plate and the pole piece if it is anything like other AA/FI products.
  8. this person also does the same thing for christmas iirc. seen it a couple years ago on youtube.
  9. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qcCbiWEQ1DA comment/rate/subscrive/friend!! That is all kthx PS: Video maybe still processing, 1080HD should be available soon!
  10. ok so i hacked a video together quick so here she is..... LOL My hd camera was hard to pick up the violet color for some reason, but my cell did a good job at it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7JW5tkoI_Do
  11. Lots of things cause amps to run hot, or get hotter then normal Running the amp at a lower impedance then its rated for. (if the amp is 2ohm stable, and you play it at 1 ohm it will run much hotter then it would if it was wired at 2 ohms) A bad ground - could be a loose crimped terminal, loosely bolted to the car, a bad ground spot, wire to small. A bad power wire - mostly the same as above, loose crimped terminal, not fully tight to the battery, to small of wire. Electrical system is too weak for the power the amp wants, so the amp is being starved trying to make power it can not make because the voltage/current is not there. Having your Gain / Bass Boost set too high and are causing clipping and or distortion, which is making the amp work harder. It could be a cheaper amp, and when it was put into the heat sink there was little to no thermal paste or pads used to transfer the heat from the mosfets to the heat sink. Could just straight out be a poorly designed heat sink that does not dissipate the heat good or as fast as it should. So yea. lots of things can cause the amps to run hot, or over heat, and if the amp is from a good stand up company with quality products, chances are its usually caused by user error.
  12. LoL... Those safty nets sure do a great job protecting people from falling into the pit...
  13. as long as your happy is all that matters
  14. sorry for having disposable income yo! lols Intellegent lighting was a hobby of mine since middle school, and became a dj at a roller rink. However when I started driving car audio became my new hobby. Thinking of just buying a bunch of cool lights again, and maybe start Djing.
  15. Pretty much its a club lighting effect. No it dont cut things unfortunately (I know people that bought the ones that can pop a balloon and light a match but they never worked like the sellers claimed). I paid a little under $500 for this, and its multi-colored. No its not red (could of got red and green) but I went with Green and Violet. I figured red lasers are pretty much played out, and green is getting played out too, which is why I went with Violet and Green. There are 2 Laser Diodes, the green is around 20mW (millawatts) and the violet is 200mW. This thing has built in programs and goes thru its own patterns, also has sound activation which means it changes color/patterns to the music. I can also run it with a DMX-512 controller and have many more options to make it strobe, custom mix the colors, mirror speed, patterns, etc. Heres a few pictures of it in action. Got videos to edit/upload too yet
  16. Just bought a bad ass non-audio toy.. It was almost 500$ but so fucking PIMP!!!

most likely its nothing even close to what your thinkin! lol

  17. IE: Your box is externally 38w So your port should be 36.5Wide by 5.25High, which comes out to 191.62 sq inches of port (vs the old 192 sq inches or port you currently have). So not only will you be making the box have less obstructions, you will be saving time not having to cut all the sides of the port, when you can just use the sides of the box, and have almost idenical SQ inches of port, same port length, same port tuning, and saving wood, and cutting time.
  18. box looks ok, but Im hating the port.. the port should be the width of the entire box (and not as tall), using 3 common wall Or it should be made the entire height of the box and use 2 common walls Putting the port right in the middle causes lots of dead air space and usually hurts numbers.
  19. light weight....... But really, I bed the a guy put a roofy in your drink thinking it was some chicks he been secretly stalking :drink40:
  20. x2! But in all honesty its TLDR...... LMAO So I will just agree with "mostly all" of what rednavi says, even tho his navi is not red..... isnt it ironic dont you think? its like a free ride when you all ready paid. its like winning the lottery and dieing the next day. its like a red light when your already late. isnt it ironic dont you think. PS: Look at my cock!! :turkey: err. its a turky i guess. FML
