  1. Quite a few amps will have a click on and off. This is the relays working inside the amp. This is normal, especially in larger power amps.
  2. I have a 1k that will do roughly 1400ish. Pm me if interested
  3. I have some BNIB DAT prototype board 3k's that I can sell ya. These are not the troubled production models PM me if interested.
  4. Getting in the habit of wearing hearing and dust protection young is a good start. MDF and fiberglass dust is no joke when ya start weezin like us ol folk
  5. Jigsaw, Pencil, straight edge, large compass, tape measure, or 3 and a screw gun with #2 tip and a few drill bits is all you really need to build a box. I built boxes for many O years with just these things. Everything else you add will make your life easier but aren't necessary
  6. WOW, I missed this thread. Better late then never. I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who has voted, and even more so for the ones who voted for me. There is plenty of good names on this list as well as the other sites, so I expect SS to have one hell of a team. Makes me excited to finish a few projects around here.
  7. I bought a Skilsaw 10" off craigslist 10 years ago for 40 bucks. Still works like a champ. It bogs down a little on thicker hard woods even with a good Diablo 80 tooth blade. But MDF isn't an issue. I added the biesemeyer BC50 fence to it and I have a very nice table now. When It does go out, I will be looking for a 12" with a blade brake
  8. I can bet ya that the price increase do to the "cool factor" isn't anywhere close to the actual raw material price increases. Everyone might want to keep a better eye on the raw material prices in relation to our economy and over seas suppliers. If anyone thinks ANY of these internet based brands are flushed with cash, then I suggest you jump on the cash wagon and do it yourself.
  9. The company I work for also buys raw material and we have seen a 20% increase over this time last year. Plus Rusty has a hooker & blow habit
  10. WOW BRO. Might be one of the best CL scores EVAR!
  11. No idea. I don't work with the same type of car with different years enough to remember what is different from Gen to gen. Best bet would to measure the sppace you have to work with to see if they would fit.

  13. If you read the description, you will see that they say to message them when requesting custom colors or print when you place your order. So I would suggest you message them with your auction number
  14. I have 2 brand new 3100's here in the shop.
  15. I'll look at the link when I'm not on muh phone. Splitting the dvr's work to cover a few buildings is a great way to save, but keep in mind your distance lengths. Depending on the camera and system, your cable distances may degrade signal. Repeators and remote power boxes can add up. Twisted pair and coax both have their advantges. Another thing to consider is light the more of it you have and the easier it is to see a place has cameras, the less likely people will mess with a place. My house is lit up like daylight at night and I make it very clear where my camera domes are.
  16. To be honest bro, If you don't spend the money on a camera that has the quality to show a great picture, then you are literally throwing your money away. there is nothing more frustrating then having something happen, seeing the video, and NOT seeing who it was. I would suggest a camera like this. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Pelco-IS110-CHV9-Camclosure-High-Res-Dome-CCTV-Camera-/170670459634?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item27bcc08af2 If you are looking for day AND night coverage, then you want a color and B&W combo. B&W are great for at night. Yes they are pricey. My best advise is to have him build up the system as he has money for it. DVR's are easy and cheap to get. Find one that plays back AND records. Dont accept anything less then 30 FPS PER Channel. Very important. All other features are user preference
  17. Don't get the harbor freight ones. I have a few around here and their garbage Look on ebay for a company called Pelco. They have some of the best camera and systems around.
  18. Pac makes the TR-7 which will bypass the feature. Alpines require a brake on - set parking brake - brake off sequence
  19. Not really that expensive. 30- 40 a sheet depending on the supply right now. 2 yards of carpet 8-20 depending on the quality of carpet and color. Terminal cup, little bit of wire connectors, glue, screws and labor which is time spent getting materials, building the box and cleaning up afterwards. 100- 150 isn't too out of line for a quality box of this size.
  20. I have a very nice scope. It got a good amount of use when I was workin on amps. Now about the only thing I use it for is to set gains and to clamp amps. I would say just get the DD-1
