What to upgrade for this system.
mbdblue replied to carshateme's topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring
depending on how old her bat is up front, Id probably just replace it with something a little bigger and not even bother with a second. -

Having a hard time finding a H/O Alt.
mbdblue replied to Papaslim's topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring
they have some, but i won't a direct fit. I know DC listed some. Mechman I haven't tried. I don't want to spend anymore money on something that "might" fit. And have my truck in the shop for weeks without and alt. weeks??!! an alt replacement should take a shop a couple hours. what was wrong with fitment? The alt replace took around 2 hours, but after discovering that the alt didn't fit I attempted several times to contact DC Power with no success. I had to wait until the BBB to contact DC to even get a response so that I could get a refund. so you had your truck sitting in a shop for weeks at a time instead of throwing the old one back in and getting it on the road? either that or Im not following your reasoning. I agree that you shouldn't have had to call the BBB to get ahold of them, but having your truck sitting in a shop for something as simple as an alt replacement is just a bad judgement call. -

no. its wired too low. i dont understand why the other guys on here cant figure that out. its not an undervolt problem. unless you had a 40 amp alt and an rc car battery under the hood, you wont drop to 9v and cause the amp to protect from undervoltage. x fuckin 2 and you shouldn't have to convince anything on a 600 watt system.....

Here is the problem. I sealed off the big opening: My only opening is through the speaker hole. The other problem, SS Damp Pro is too thick for me to "feel for the hole". are these pictures of your doors in particular, or ones you got off the web? If they are yours, look at the bottom right corner of the door where is comes to a point. there's one of the holes they're talking about. it looks like you didn't cover them. they only usually run where the outer door skin meets the inner.

Running syetem just off Batterys?
mbdblue replied to daniel1204's topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring
what kind of vehicle is it? try any means possible to find a HO alt for your setup before you go trying what your describing. As others have said, its not a great idea, and personally I wouldn't attempt it. but like watch the bass said, contact a bunch of those companies and find out if they can build you one. -

theres always the option of renting a MIG...but that will also add up quickly...doing some research on it, I see a couple people saying practice with it and it won't be bad, just more slag to deal with. and other people saying just buy a MIG and not giving reasons why. as for whether or not flux-core burns hotter, I can't really address because there doesn't seem to be any reason why it would...then again Ive never used it before so I don't know.
