  1. Had a cheap system with a $35 scosche 8ga wiring kit, a legacy amp for 20 bucks, and two mtx 10"s or another 60. So just over 100? We all need to start somewhere haha.
  2. JL makes wire, it's the EXACT same stuff as the Rockford Fosgate wire though. Just a different printing on the coating. Very good stuff. I've got a bunch of 0 gauge, it lives up to the JL reputation anyhow.
  3. What??? US Amps, while they certainly have taken a bit of a dip with the outsourcing deal, are an amazing company. I myself run US Amps, and i think I always will. Phoenix gold pioneered this particular test. They gave every dealer a signal generator to do it with, to prove they will play through extremely low impedance loads. Try it with another cheap chinese amp and see what happens. Shut off your smoke detector first.
  4. Just my two cents, but make a bigger port. If that's a three inch, go with a 4. Or a 6.
  5. You know I got up out of my chair and turned on my system for that? Now I wanna cry.
  6. Hey that's not so bad. Check out this guy. Apparently I gotta hear it for myself. http://appleton.craigslist.org/ele/2961634704.html
  7. That's one of the ideas behind the tinning, copper likes to corrode. You can use straight copper on aluminum, but yeah leave it one for a year and she'll be fused right together from corrosion. Had that problem whit my engine block ground
  8. Looking for these old Image Dynamics subs. They only come in 15"s. There is also a newer IDSPL they made, but I want the old one. You can tell it apart because the one I want has a stamped steel basket. It looks like an IDQ but has a double stacked motor. Not sure how many are floating around out there, but I want one or two more. Give me a PM if you can help me out, thanks.
  9. Get a battery isolator. Run it between the stock/Kinteik and the two xs power batteries. Might help with the resting voltage deal.
  10. Sorry about the delay college keeps me very busy.
  11. Is that an actual USA made head unit? If it is then yes I'm interested for sure.
  12. Dang rearview mirrors are dangerous. My crappy autozone mounting glue let up and dropped it on my shifter, aka broken mirror verywhere. Love the 8"s though! Nice port placement on the second box.
  13. Man that's cool, I'm jealous. The stuff they made was incredible. Stable over both channels to 1/4 of an ohm. Could heat an apartment but it still wont blow.
  14. Haha I know I can't find much new stuff. It's pretty old. Says hand crafted in florida right on the circuitboard.
  15. Hi all, before I crashed my car I was working on a little project where I would use nothing but American made equipment. Now that I'm coming into a little money, I'm gonna start this again come summertime. I've succesfully found some good US Amps brand stuff, namely a USA100hc and a USX crossover. I've got two excellent 15" Image Dynamics IDSPLs that run 1200 RMS apeice. I've also got some USA made 2/0 battery cable scrounged from who knows where. Now here's where the problem comes in. I'd really like to use an American made head unit, but I can't find a decent one. Anybody got any idea where I can find one? Also I need more wires! Any brand that makes stuff stateside?
  16. Nice frame construction! How thick do you have it glassed to? Is an eighth inch of glass enough for that?
  17. I know exactly what it's like owning a tiny car like that. Honestly I am more than satisfied with my measly setup, two 15" Memphis subs and a p1000bd. It's not like he's gonna have much in the way of competition either way haha.
