  1. Got some interest, but I would really like to get this thing sold!!!! Maybe this will help the deal. . .Since I am getting SMD subs for my next project, I will include the (6) 15" Fi Hybrid subs with the 8 ga speaker wire for an additional $1050 ($175 each). These are subs Scott built for me. 12 spoke basket, Dual 2 ohm BTL soft parts, some motor attached to it that was something Scott was playing around with. . .They were played around with at one local event. Never burped, just music. Handled a 40.1 at 1 ohm no problem. Less than 1 hour total playing time. So $2800 you get the van with the (6) subs that are currently in there already wired with 8 ga on each coil. I WILL NOT SELL JUST THE SUBS FOR $1000!!! DON'T ASK!!!! Brian
  2. This van is street legal. Tagged and inspected, including North Texas emissions testing requirements (just passed last month). Runs and drives great. A/C works, decent tires on it, new brakes with less than 500 miles on them, etc. I drive it to work frequently to punish my friends at lunch! Only problem I know of is the front window regulators are out. I planned on buying complete "new" doors with manual window cranks at the cash and carry for $70 each, but just have not done it. The front driver's seat cover is not in very good condition, but I will include a complete seat that you can swap out. The current driver's seat is powered, but the spare is not, so you could just swap the lower foam and cover. All of the metal is solid. Some surface rust has formed up top where the paint it peeling above the windshield. I had it outside for a couple of weeks and it started to rust. It has been inside since then and has not been wet, so it is not getting any worse. The metal is solid, just needs to be sanded and painted. I am selling the van with the enclosure and amp/battery rack, door panels for 6 mids and 4 tweeters (each door), Mechman 250 amp alt, external regulator kit, 4/0 charge wire from alt to back, (1) volt gauge, radio mounting kit for the dash, and rear air bag kit. ALL OTHER EQUIPMENT AND BATTERIES ARE COMING OUT UNLESS ARRANGEMENTS ARE MADE PRIOR TO SELLING. The wall is setup for (6) 15's. It is 24 ft^3 NET (assuming 1.5 ft^3 for driver displacement) tuned to 35 Hz with 386 sqin of port area. It is setup for bass race/daily driver, not burping. The box is baffled internally for airflow, so if the baffles were removed, it would gain over 3 cuft of airspace if you needed it. I have burped a 159.7 @ 42/43 Hz, but I only did 1 street beat run with it. That run was a 154.4 with only 4 of 6 subs playing. With everything working with my setup, it will play music in the 158+ range. Asking $1750. I have the clear title. If you are interested, and would like it with any of the equipment, PM me. NONE OF THE EQUIPIMENT WIL BE SOLD UNTIL THE VAN IS SOLD, so please do not ask. I have a build log on this forum - link in my signature. Brian
  3. http://emob183.photobucket.com/albums/x24/...o4/1f7c121d.jpg finally took a pic. Added r&d intake grate and pump seal kit, r&d high flow aircleaner, and riva exhaust. Still under $1000. . . Not bad!
  4. Correct. In this case, if he really had the volume set on 3-5 like he states, I doubt he was getting anywhere near full output of the amp, even if the gain was set to max. . .maybe that was a typo. Not "3 or 5", but "35" j/k
  5. Gains, Gains, Gains. . .everyone blames it on how the gains were set. . . How the volume was set is what kills it. My 40.1's are set with the gains on MAX. Never hurt a sub or an amp. . . Gain setting is over rated. . .User control of the volume knob is the actual problem. . . BRian
  6. Traded a guy some HT and car audio work for a 2005 Yamaha VX-110 waverunner! 1100cc 3-seater. Only 110 HP, but runs about 52-53 MPH. . .Not much HP and speed by today's PWC standards. Had to replace $143 in parts on the waverunner and patch two holes in the hull, but all said and done it cost me $683 and a few hours labor for this waverunner with a decent trailer. Will be at the lake tomorrow - will try to remember to get a couple of pictures! Brian
  7. Wrong. . . You can use one coil. Just short the other one and the t/s parameters remain almost the same. Kicker Warhorse runs one coil at a time on a woofer - one coil pushes, the other pulls. They short the coil that is not being driven. t/s parameters of the woofer are almost the same, and back EMF is not thrown back into the amplifier.
  8. He put them in the same box, not the same alignment. I have not seen the parameters of the Z15 - it might be a louder sub X power, so I will not agrue that. For direct comparisions of Fi subs, the BTL has the "potential" to be the loudest sub Fi makes in a give alignment (that is alignment, not the same box) even when not driven to full power. Sure, there are a LOT of variables that can make another sub louder. . .We know installation is a BIG part of the output. A daily box swapping sub A and sub B is not a good indication of the potential of the sub. Do this same test in another vehicle with another box, there is a good chance you get totally different results. As far as daily boxes go - Also understand that this arguement normally comes in when people say "don't get a BTL unless you have at least 3000 watts, it won't perform well". Well he just proved that wrong. . .A BTL with well under RMS driving it is just as loud as Brand X sub being driven beyond its rated power. . .I understand savig money, but if I have the money, I'll take the more safe setup any day. . . Brian
  9. If it is all fiberglass, fill it with water. Dump the water in a round bucket and measure. That will be exact. Brian
  10. You can do it, but the power to the 3 subs will not be distributed evenly. Brian
  11. (16) 10's is fun. . .These were $25 10" woofers and sealed. All 16 on 4000 watts RMS. VERY loud.
  12. I have been running BTL's and Mayhems daily for over 2 years. Each sub on an IA 40.1 @ 0.5 ohms with 14+ volts.
  13. Are you looking for a V shape design, tunnel with the subs facing each other, . . .??? Do you know how you want the subs to sit in the box? Brian
  14. x2. Make the enclosure 1.5" thick and much less bracing.
  15. Not removable, but I really like the iron sites. Just like playing Call of Duty
  16. Lot of people, but not many competed. I think we made one mistake of letting the louder cars go first and then people did not enter because the knew they could not win. . . Oh well, it was a fun day! Hope Moose or Joey can get a few pics posted up. . . Brian
  17. I sold my 1955 Chevy Belair in 2000. 2 dr post with 412 cuin big block motor. Did not own a digital camera back then, but I still have a few pics of it from the 35mm camera. Other than that, I sold my 1996 impala SS that I bought from my mom in 1998. That was a fun family car that I wish I still had when I see one on the street.
