  1. I sat inside yuey's (Irpirate) car multiple times, and once in his box. I'm healthier than i've ever been lol.
  2. Maybe I did misread, but I still doubt it will happen. If you feel like it's going to happen again, just turn it down. No sense in spending money to downsize when you have a volume knob.
  3. In plate amps they do. Just have a little fan dedicated to one. they got hot QUICK. i got a 250 watt dayton plate amp, got pretty toasty after like 2 minutes of playtime.
  4. or just a bunch of 12v power supplys made for that exact application. I seriously doubt it best buy would use a battery on a charger. OP you bestbet for clean power would be a plate amp or 2 It's possible, but I have a feeling they have an amp to power the subs behind the wall, rather than the ones displayed. They allow you to switch between amps, yet output from the subs seems to remain the same. I'll have to test this theory though. but yeah one or two plate amps depending on what your VC config is. most plate amps are 4 ohm stable, one set of leads.
  5. they probably have a car battery hooked up to a trickle charger. or they bypass the amps alltogether. i've never tried messing with the gains on them before... i might try that tomorrow.
  6. Sealed box? That's a REALLY expensive box for being so basic. oh..and IB4L
  7. Your amp didn't blow because the sub was too much for it to handle. It doesn't work that way. You either had your sub wired down below the minimum impedance, or let your voltage drop so bad that the amp fried. Your subs likely blew because you had the gain on the amp cranked all the way up, and you were clipping the subs to all hell.
  8. You didn't learn from your mistake though!! You have no idea how to properly use that equipment, which just sets you up for failure in the future! You have yet to prove that you know enough about how a car stereo works to prevent future equipment failure. On top of that, you haven't even considered getting decent equipment. I'm not sure how you can even say those hifonics square subs are "sticking with what you know" when it sounds like you have zero experience with them. I don't mean to come off as a douche, but you have some serious learning to do before I would consider any of your systems anything more than a fire hazard.
  9. If you've already blown 5 subs and 2 amps, you need to stop buying and start learning something. Forget everything your "buddies" told you, in fact, forget everything you've been taught so far, because it hasn't gotten you far. Read around here for another month or two and then start putting your system together based on the knowledge you've acquired. I can almost guarantee what you have planned right now is going to sound like complete garbage.
  10. But if you're set on the CVX, PM me. I've got a 2010 dual 4 model practically brand new.
  11. I used to work at best buy and i got my 12" CVX's at cost pretty much. 105 plus shipping. He's asking too much. Obsidian 12's would be cheaper brand new @ MSRP. and i would much prefer one of those to a CVX. Mainly due to the fact that you can get recones for the obsidians.
  12. I got the product and did a little review. I can't say my review is very valuable though. I only tested them with some music on my phone and a buddies phone. I still have yet to try them with on my laptop. I talked with IbleedMusick to see what he thought of his. we both had a pretty similar experience with them, but he actually had an amplifier for his. He told me they came alive when amplified. linky
  13. I think it's gonna be hard to tune that low with proper port area if you're porting through the deck. but yeah 33-35 should be good
  14. I had no idea.. hmm. i'll keep this in mind
  15. not really. 1.75 per sub is fine. and OP, excellent sub choice. they'll probably beg for more power though
  16. get a pair of 250 watters http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=300-803
