  1. Lol, alright man thanks much appreciated. I was guilty of that ^ haha not setting the gains correctly. Gotta get me a DD-1 here veryyyy soon. So people put the gain up alot more, so they can get more bass at a lower volume, but being that the gain is cranked most likely more than 3/4ths it causes clipping at a lower volume correct? The gain knob's purpose is to match the voltage output of your head unit. Every head unit is different and every amp as well. So we can't really say if 3/4 is too much or not enough. And yeah lol the dd-1 will make your life much easier
  2. Not at all! What do you think happens when you turn the volume down on your head unit? The reason the "underpowering a sub blows it" myth exists is because when underpowering a sub a lot of people crank the gain all the way up or way past where it should be because they think their sub can handle moar powa!!!! But as we all know the gain knob isn't the volume knob. Set the gains right and there is no problem
  3. Man i would love to be a part of this Steve! And if it goes to supporting member section you better bet I'll be buying one haha, actually the only reason i havnt is cause I only use my phone for this forum, but either way I'm going to be a supporting member
  4. Maybe if you only have room for 1 12 and not 2, there is a possibility you can fit 1 15 back there just to take advantage of all the airspace you can. A SA-15 or an OA-15 are easily inside of your budget and are probably your best bang for the buck
  5. Wow, I guess it's always just been kinda common sense to me, but I liked reading the actual facts, I think this will help a lot of people
  6. There is no way the l7's are gunna take 2000 watts a piece man
  7. You probably said something dumb haha
  8. You don't need to break that sub in. Just play it and it'll break itself in
  9. There are alot! I would personally do obsidian oa15's or sundown sa15's
  10. Man who the fuck wants to watch the WWE haha
  11. That was pretty entertaining... But I'm a bad judge cause everything is entertaining when your blowed haha
  12. 1000 watts, you think it would sound better/louder than an FI SSD? There is really no way to know, but I would personally go with the SA just because I love them and the customer service
  13. That is a good deal, that's a certified sundown dealer so that's the accurate price for a new SA-12. The SA series (except the SA- are all rated at 600w rms but a very underrated and will take 1000w better than most 1000w subs. The SA can sound really good and get loud as well. The size of the box will likely depend on the power you will he giving the sub, and the 34hz tune will sound good.
  14. Not trying to he a douche but why make two threads about the same thing bro?
  15. Who cares about the NBA, I get more into the NCAA anyway and I know those dudes won't be locked out! And I'm actually the opposite right after bowl season the AMA supercross comes on! So I never needed anything in feb. Lol
  16. True that, most "spl" systems would sound super shitty on music, it's a whole different thing really.
  17. I dont think many people on here understand the actually meaning, or understand what a SQ set up is. It's a whole different monster and I'm almost possitive that isn't what most kids are looking for when they ask these types of questions I'm sorry...please stop. OP...cheapest route is to get another W3. Also considering the prefab being run, on the same power, you're not really switching things up.
  18. I'd go with the new sundown E-12, they arnt out yet but should be fairly soon. Would be perfect in this situation
  19. Your bias because arent you the owner of the Obsidian CRX, and also got banned at caco ? but i agree with what you said. lol Ummm... More like the owner of obsidian audio itself haha. And yeah he got banned from caco because the owner of caco is selling out, and is a bit of a bitch. (those are my words and have nothing to do with nick or his company) And to the op, you'll love any of the subs, I have SA's and OA's and I would deal with nick over most people in the industry anyday. All the drivers mentioned are great
  20. I'm almost sure that neither of the Amos you mentioned do rated. You say you are wired to 2ohms right now which would mean that you have two dvc 2 ohms subwoofers. If that is that case you need to look for an amp that produces about 800-1000 watts at TWO ohms. Your subs (if dvc 2's) cannot present a 1ohm load so that power at 1ohm is typically cut in half at 2. But I'll name a few Amps that do power at 2 ohms. Basically any kicker 1000watt monoblock, or alpine 1000, jl 1000/1, RF 1000 monoblocks. I actually saw 2 cvr's on a kenwood kac9105 and they sounded great, and that 9105 can be found pretty cheap on eBay. Basically all these amps are out of the given price range, but good deals can be found on them used.
  21. Yeah but that is the cool thing about the 1000/1 it produces 1000watts at 1.5 - 4 ohms!
  22. Alright lol I thought you were trying to prove the dr. Subwoofer theory for a second. And I was thinking "well that's exactly what im saying, it's not even close" haha
  23. I don't really get what that has to do with anything?
