  1. i had a similar problem on my truck..try having someone pull on the hood (not hard but hard enough) while your pulling the release lever..thats how i get mine open when i need it..as to an actually permanent solution i have yet to find one
  2. i personally use 10 gauge..honestly in most situations you really dont need much bigger.. pain in the ass to fit in the terminals which really isnt worth it
  3. fish your comment made me bust up laugh god damn i thought my comment was good
  4. build your own man..maybe have someone design you one WAY...WAY cheaper to build your own and when its done you can say "i built that"
  5. one think you may have to do is buy a short wire of the wire your 4 channel takes...no sense in trying to shove wire in there thats way bigger than what it accepts
  6. i think hes talking about the same power wire guys..pretty sure..?
  7. this may be one time where "doesnt matter had sex" does in fact not apply
  8. i had the same thing happen and it was my head unit rca's had went bad.. could be the problem
  9. yeah forgot the external part my bad heres a video i just found
  10. most ive seen do either subs forward port back..subs up port back..and its usually aeroports from what ive seen..sorry dont know where any crx build logs are just from what ive seen along the way
  11. so you put priorities first? is that what this is about?
  12. kinda makes me wanna get one and see what i can do with it now
  13. tommy k was pulling right around 148-149 i think with a type r is his truck..woofers can get loud in the right hands
  14. my bad just wanted to make sure you didnt mess up
  15. you have 8 subs..thus that would= .1X8
  16. should woofer displacement be like .8 instead of .1? and yes plenty of bracing will be needed on this box
  17. you may try subs up ported to the drivers side towards the wall..could be louder but maybe not..but thats what id try
  18. what kinda truck? (just curious)
  19. .5 sealed- 153 kick-155 headrest 154 .25 sealed 154 kick-156.5 headrest 155.3
  20. if youre doing the outside of the box you should be fine IMO...maybe post up design? maybe we could pinpoint some areas bracing would be a good idea.
  21. i use all thread in my bracing..wooden dowels will work..make sure you brace the port also..bracing equals strong box and less box= smoother "airflow" out of the box=more spl and your box doesnt rip apart lol also fiberglass resin on the inside is never a bad idea
  22. the only way to truely set the gain is with a dd-1 or an oscope.. clipping is BAD can damage even the best sub.. as to the rest ill let somebody step in who can explain better than me..also for design a box hit up the torres calculator (available on the site)
  23. the way ive learned is by asking questions and browsing the forums..see a thread that looks interesting? open it and do some reading. good way to learn..or at least its helped me alot
  24. audio technix is what is use ---> http://audiotechnix.com/ pretty good stuff from my experience..
