  1. Empty shelves , no inventory? Pack it in so you can ship them out.... I feel ya on puttin those shelves together. Major PITA....
  2. I hate even chiming in unless it is to pay compliments. but this time Wanna toss my two coins in. ( I know , a day late ) Lose the mesh. It looks like one of those doors you see at the public schools with the wire inside the glass. It doesn't match the amps, and it makes the work you are trying to show off behind the plexi that much harder to see. Sorry Meade, but it just doesn't fit too me. But then again, I have thought that to myself before and you changed my mind as work progressed. ( I didn't "get" the whole mirror thing , never liked them inside a car - now though ---- SSSSHHHHIIIITTTT......I want da mirrors after seeing yours and PT cary's ) The rest of it looks good all wrapped and everything though. Quality work by a real pro.
  3. Go take one for a long test drive first. You will prolly realize that for all the cool looks you get, they are a PITA to ride anywhere. Go get a nice cruiser and trick it out. The more rake you have out front, the worse it handles. But this place here always has some sweet chops on the floor, and a lot of other sweet deals. They sell bourget, Martin, Ironhorse, etc. Check them out. They started out small a few years ago, and now the have one really nice shop... Low Country Customs
  4. I have been doing business with them since you were about five years old !!! Thanks for the re assurance anyhow. I turned wrenches for pay for a while, I do not miss doing it , and I don't miss the mess. I can not change my oil in front of my townhome.
  5. Fuckin awesome.... I am about to die to have a garage again. I REALLY want a big ass table saw. there is ssssooooooo much that you can do with them besides rip sheets of plywood MDF. A good table table saw is absolutely the cornerstone of a wood working shop. You will love that long table out to one side... I was in books a million the other night and I picked upa couple of wood working mags, one of them has so really cool plans for a out feed table ( behind the blade ) that you build and make PVC rollers to go in it. Best part is, it is collapsible , folds down against the saw when not in use. Really helps when you are ripping full sheets , keeps the wood from binding back against the blade as you push it through. enjoy it man. Lets see what you guys build with it !!!!!
  6. If its one of your buddies , don't take his money. You might some help doing something one day. it would eat at my conscience knowin I took my friends money.
  7. Going on that theory alone , the why is it when you nail two pieces of wood together and hold them both up by only one of the two pieces of wood, why doesn't the other piece of wood fall off the nail ?
  8. Easy there... If you get a brad nailer it needs to at least shoot 1" to 1-1/4 " brads.. some of them only use very short small gauge brads. Some are known in the trade as " pin nailers" or "pin guns" and are slod as brad nailers , so If you go to get a brad nailer , read the specs carefully. I have both a brad nailer and a finish nailer. I would trade em for nothing. I use a Stanley-Bostich finish nailer , shoots something like 1"- 2 1/2" -- 15 gauge finish nails.... My brad nailer is a Porter Cable and I wanna say it shoots like 3/4 to 2 inch brads, 18 gauge. home Depot usually has em in stock, and they sell the small packs of brad nails so you won't have to box a box of 10,000 nails at a time. I think I paid something like 80 bucks for it, they have em on sale all the time. works well. I bought a angled finish nailer cause a angled gun works better when you are installing interior trim like crown moulding and base boards in tight corners. Its more gun than most audio guys would need, But again, I love air nailers. They make a hammer look useless. my finish nailer my brad nailer And remember, the nailer or the screws are not there to permanently hold the enclosure together. They are just the quick way of clamping the MDF pieces together until the glue cures good. Alot of people don't use them at all, as mentioned, but not using any hardware at all requires you to need alot of big, and somewhat expensive clamps that are over two feet long. If you already have a compressor, you can get a brad gun for about the cost of 5 or 6 good clamps. I used my finish nailer on my enclosure, and only used my brad gun on my 45 degree corners . I wanna say I shot 1 1/2 inch , 15 gauge nails into the main 3/4" MDF sides. The finish nails are a bit thicker than brads, and have more of a "head" on them than the brads. If you are gonna be gluing , nailing, and flipping the box around a lot during assembly the brads may not get a good hold and keep the boards clamped together well. I dunno, didn't try it. Also, for screws, alot of guys use drywall screws, and it is the norm , and nothing wrong with em. But if you look in the nut and bolt section you can sometimes find screws that are a little smaller in thickness, and you can then drill a smaller pilot hole which will further decrease your chances of having a situation where you run a screw in and split your piece of MDF... Same with the nails guns too, dont get a screw any longer than necessary. The farther you drive a screw into the wood , the better your chance of splitting it.
  9. sorry man . wasn't tryin to hate ... but that damn tundra is gonna be gas hawg . But they are uber nice inside and out.
  10. The only thing you won't be able to pass is a gas station with 9 inches of lift ....
  11. There is some new prescription drug that several guys I work with have used to quit. Took 'em less than two weeks to quit. Fuck that though, I like my Medium cowboy killers waaayyyy tooo mmmmuuuucccchhhhh.........
  12. sure you are. If you are not concerned about it, then don't ever put into a competition, which I am sure you will do at some point. Even if it is " just to see " what it does. If nothing else, Sound Deadener will eliminate the rattles , most of tire noise, some of the wind noise, and make your high stage sound so much better....
  13. Its a flexible ruler. Go to a local art store or drafting supply place. Any body that sells architectural drawing supplies will carry it , or you can buy it online.
  14. Come and take a listen in my truck again, Then call your buddy at savannah toyota and go test drive a stock FJ on the lot, you will see and hear one hell of a difference. Plus, If you do end up actually putting in those 18s , your roof is gonna make a ass ton of noise and shake and rattle alot. For the roof I say three layers ( at least ) of damplifier pro, and a layer of luxury liner , then put the headliner back in. On the floor, at least two layers of damplifier pro, a layer of luxury liner, at least two or three layers of damplifier pro on the outer door skins, and a layer of over kill pro. on the inner skin at least one layer of damplifier pro and make covers for all the holes out of sheet metal , cover those as well, and put a layer of damplifer pro on the back of the door panel, and cover the back of the door panel with luxury liner pro. do the back wall with at least two layers of damplifer pro. Something to remember too, it is said by some folks that eliminating rattles and keeping as mush pressure inside the cab will give you higher numbers on the meter.... I figure you need two bulk packs of dampi- pro, 6-8 sheets of luxury liner, and maybe four sheets of overkill pro. Figure a solid day and a half to gut the truck, install it all, and then put the truck back together....
  15. JCB has its only U.S. factory here in Pooler ,GA. i worked there for a couple of years. I have seen a couple of backhoes set up for drag racing when the brought them here for a dealer meeting . Never saw any of them run a 1/4 but they were loud as fuck. those things are pretty amazing, not to mention what a JCB tractor can do in stock trim. They are way over built, and way over priced. I do know for a fact they are powder coated very well, cause I bet ya I painted a thousand of em...
  16. I quit changing all my oil once I started living in apartments, and now with the townhouse, just impractical. Neighbors bitch If I start gutting the interior so install sound deadener ... I don't go to the dealer, but there is a very reputable shop around here "savannah Tire" they got stores allover the area. I trust them, they do a damn good job, and they actually get me a toyota filter at no extra charge 32 bucks for synthetic blend a tire rotation and a factory filter. cant beat it.
  17. I will never go to any sort of "oil-change" shack or "quick lube" place. Just not gonna risk it. I friend of mine ( older guy ) bought a brand new crown vic back in like october of last year , took in into Jiffy lube, the second oil change ever done to this car, mind you .... The put the drain plug back in, stuck a new filter on it, and closed the damn hood. No oil into the engine. They bought the car a from him a few days later...
  18. congratulations man. Life changes now. In a good way though.
