Ican honestly say that I dont recall seeing a red xterra before. Kinda rare. I like it. I also liked the weird blue they had too. Can't wait to see the build. BTW.. get second skin for your sound deadener. good stuff.

looks like a long flexible ruler. architecture, art and drafting supply stores sell them, up to about 2 or 3 feet long. very stiff but flexible. sorta square shaped with a rubber coating.

I live in Savannah Ga, so I won't ever travel that far on a train. My longest run is just over 200 miles. If you ever become a TOTAL bum , I will not only let you ride the second engine, i will let you use the air conditioner in the summer time.

As I understand it from one of the car mags, the mugen is going to be VERY limited production. something like 1500 - 2000 being made. Finding one used could take some time. I say go with the Si , you can then have a ton more money to mod it as you see fit, plus a new Si will cost the same as a used mugen....

I have the kenwood xxv-01d and it is starting to behave rather strangle from time to time. For one, the EQ settings like to change on their own. explanation: I set them all where I want them, a day or two later I check them cause the system sounds a little off, and sure enough everything is different. turn the deck off, pop the face plate loose, wait about twenty seconds, turn it all back on and wa-la! the EQ settings are back where I put them.. Then there is the satellite radio channel changing thing. I use sirius , but here is what happens. I push the remote to go up a channel- nothing happens , so I push it again, sometimes it changes , sometimes it doesn't. When it doesn't I push it again, then it will jump 3 channels for the three pushes on the remote all at once. then other times it works just fine. Not to mention sometimes when I use one of the buttons on the face, the screen goes black, but the sound still plays, and I have to pop the face off and put it back on to get normal operation again. I took it down to my kenwood dealer, where I got it, but of course it wouldn't duplicate any problem for me show them what was up. On top of all that I have e-mailed kenwood twice with no response. This deck was the cream of the crop when It came out in late 2005. If I had the cash for something else I would toss it in the trash. What sucks is now, in order to switch brands I would have to get a new ipod adapter, and a new sirius brain, which makes the swap even more costly.

my guess would be the vehicles owner, cause some of the folks on here seem to throw it in his face how much money hes got, how great his life must be, and then proceed to tell him how they think he should spend it. I would get tired of it after a while too if I was in that position. We all love to see the progress of the hoopty, but ultimately what gets done to it and how it gets paid for is between steve and chicken. What chicken buys with his money is purely chickens decision, and perhaps it got a little to personal for him. No one needs to know about his personal life or his list of possessions and He doesn't need to offer an explanation to any one as to the way he sees fit to using his checkcard or whatever. No offense to steve or chicken at all..... just seemed like it was time some one said it without pointing any fingers.

I got the JL 3-way set, and a the moment I am a little unsettled with them too. When I heard them at the shop I was impressed, but I have my 6.5" in the door and the other two in the dash up against the a pillar.... The sound needs to be better.. I just found out that a place called wicked CAS does make some A pillar pods for the FJ cruiser and a few guys on the FJ cruiser forums have them with my components and they are really happy with them, so when the tax check shows up I am gonna shell out the 270 bucks and get them , they look really good and the 4" stays in the dash with the 6.5" in the pillar. ( the FJ A-pillars are really - REALLY - wide ) then I can get my 6x9's back in the front doors , along with a new sundown 4 ch. amp to power it all. I think then I will have it about where I want it....

I know the manual with my JL 3 way comps says the woofer and midrange cannot share airspace. not only risking airwaves or air pressure working against each other, but when that starts happening, sound quality will logically be affected.....according to the manual...

The 3sixty coming onscreen makes thing way way worth the time and effort, that and navi, the cadillac menu that popped up and the wireless card benefit seems to justify all cost and work to get it in the car. If rockford would come back out with a deck that would operate the 3sixty it would be a huge seller.... Maybe steve you could drop the hint to those RF guys that you know, preferably double din !!!! Yep, Hog head , throttle jockey, horn blower, road mule, driver, engineer, track slave, any of these terms fit my job description. I do drive them, and controlling the longest piece of equipment in the world is great fun sometimes. You have no idea what it is like to pull 14,000 tons up a mountain at 3 m.p.h. and then go blasting down with all your air brakes and dynamic brakes applied just to keep it under control...... I enjoy my job very much...

You don't know me, but I truly feel for you. Try to hold your head up, and stay close to your family for support, they probably need your support too. My girlfriends aunt was hit by a speeding car crossing the road up in new jersey two days ago while walking across the street . She probably wont make it for more than a week. Be thankful you are close by to everyone and try and get thru this as best you can...

I basically have the same deck, but with the kca-ip500 ipod adapter. Got the iTouch ipod tonight for x-mas, wonder if it will work together or if I will have to change up to the kca-ip200. Anybody know? course I will find out tomorrow morning..............

Dude, these guys are the knowledge gurus when it comes to this stuff, but you gotta give details, sub make and model, single voice coil, dual voice coil, amp make and model and most importantly, get a tape measure and go out there and measure out your trunk. decide how much space you are willing to commit to a sub box, and measure twice. type things out so that they are easy to read and dont be afraid to give every little detail. The end result will be help you can use and advice that will be correct and make your sub sound as good as it can.
