generally speaking. if done right you'll break your 145 goal
-
correct, 5.25cubes would be fine for the 2k.
-
so keep box sie the same because when i get my 2k itll be better in the long run. . . what about 2800? "not the peak 2800" ??that's what i'd personally do. then when you get to 2800+ start going smaller. than what you currently have. say you were to throw a 3.5k on there you'd probably go with something along the lines of 4-4.5cubes ported.
-
honestly, i'd go with the same net volume but readjust the tuning to the 38 range. with a bigger box your 1.2k would be better suited. moar power = smaller box. less power = bigger box. and the dc 2k will be "over" rms handling on the website, not the peak at 2800, but still. as far as the db +- goes, idk, you gotta test it

yah i know that, that car is long gone since i moved in with my dad. i loved my jetta's but i now own a 99 buick my 95 jetta (red one) had a bad tranny, exhaust (everything), and the steering column was going bad at only 82k miles. the exhaust i would of needed a whole new one, the transmission needed rebuilt, and the steering column was fine for awhile, but i hated everything about that car. so far the buick drives like a cloud, and seems to have a bigger trunk than both the 97 and 95 jetta, not combined of course.

Will do, thanks for the advice. I was just going to blindly throw a system in there. We (me and my dad) test drove it and you're exactly right, drives like being on a cloud, smooth, straight, and no speed wobbles lol. Rear Bearings: http://www.partstrain.com/store/?Ntt=rear+bearing doesn't look to bad

torres box calculator. but if you're looking for a box to build and want someone to make it they'll need to know your subs displacement, and how many there are.

We currently do not have any sub200's in stock. I can look into getting one, but we are located in Ohio. Your buddies best bet would be to check out armslist.com or perhaps a local retailer. where abouts in ohio? Couple hours north of you. Western suburb of Cleveland. North Ridgeville. ah i see. been to a lot of places in columbus with my dad, they're meh i guess. buckeye outdoors (near lancaster) is just about our best bet. he's more into 12 gauge hunting and trap / field shotguns so ARs and the like aren't his cup of tea

if you play with the 8s in a door panel you're basically doing a sealed enclosure then you need to adjust (enclosure specs) for power they're handling. and for amps, you'd be better off with a 2 channel for 8s. 4 channel for 6.5s, and a two channel for tweets. the reason you're a ways off, door panels be hard from what i've heard, seen, and read, unless you've done them before. don't quote me on the first sentence. i may be talking out of my ass

Worst summary ever!!! 80% leftover? What aout the Monty cash flow budget which is one of key elements taught in the book? lol nice skimming. say you get a 650$ paycheck. after taxes, it's 580 (or whatever idk) you get paid weekly and bills come at the end of the month, so 580 x 4 = 2320$ a month ( again making numbers up) you have your bills that's $1500. so now you have 820$ left. put $123 in the bank for a cushion, then $41 in the emergency bank. now you're left with $656 for that month, gas, food, and play. it's really not that hard. let me help you break that down again. you eat subway for breakfast lunch and dinner, buy a footlong and eat 6" for breakfast then lunch = 5$ then buy another footlong and eat the whole thing for dinner = $5. that's $10 a day on food (again examples) 30 days in a month so that's $300 and now you have $356. now you figure gas. you get 20mpg at $3.20 a gallon and your tank hold 12 gallons and you drive 15miles 1 way to work, so 30 miles a day. you go visit a friends house, they live 5 miles away, you visit them 8 times in a month. there's 80 miles or 20 miles a week, so 230 miles a week, times 4 weeks in a month (averaging the day week and month in a year so there's no unfairness about what day to start on) is 920 miles a month. that's 3.833 repeating times you fill up, or 46 gallons of gas. 46 times $3.20 a gallon is $147.20 a month in gas. leaving you $208.80 dollars to literally do whatever you want with. don't ever buy a book to save money. do the fucking math. -

i can sum up that book in a short paragraph. take you check, pay your bills, after you pay your bills look at what you have left and put 15% or more into the bank with interest, put 5% into an emergency fund (ie: another bank account at another bank) but don't get a debt card for that, just for emergencies only so you have to go in to withdraw. then the other 80% of what you have is yours to play with. but bills and debt always come first. my percentages are based off of AFTER you pay bills/debt -
small box big power, big box small power. remember that, so asking for a small box must mean you have big power, but with big power comes the chance of blowing the sub or amp if you fuck things up somewhere
