  1. Haha thanks man! Glad you like it! Gotta keep it fresh lol! Wish I had a sweet 9.0k to mess around with...so much room for activities! HA, indeed there is. Stay tuned, I got something in the 'werks'... No skulls with VU meters but I think you'll like it...
  2. Changing the LED colors on the VU-din would be easy with different LEDs, but RGBs would be difficult to implement. Dig the idea though.
  3. Fuuuuuuuuu VU-din as skull eyes on an amp panel... :mindblown: Fantastic work Sir! Killin' it......
  4. No more contest winning for you! LOL... I'm on a hot streak so I'm taking advantage as much as I can...
  5. Congrats Meade! Well done on a great forum. Place feels like home. Member Since 20 Oct 2011 #61711 Anything fun planned for a 10yr anniversary coming up soon? I know you've done System of the Year before. System of the Decade?
  6. Lets check the specs: •Input Sensitivity.......................................................................................... Adjustable •Voltage required on speaker input for full scale @ maximum sensitivity ....10 VAC RMS •Voltage required on speaker input for full scale @ minimum sensitivity......150 VAC RMS •Maximum Input............................................................................................200 VAC RMS Looks to be more tailored towards an amplified output. You can try it, but it looks to prefer 10Vac for a normal full swing.
  7. Awesome MOD! Can't wait to see it in action. Yeah I've noticed that some LED controllers are NOISY as well.
  8. I'm sure I was doing something wrong, HandBrake looked like it had a LOT more customization. WinX was just a lot easier to jump into. Couple button presses and it was rolling. Surprised iTunes doesn't rip DVD's..............well, no I'm not surprised actually....
  9. I tried HandBrake and it didn't work for me. Wouldn't take the source files for whatever reason. I then tried WinX DVD Ripper Platinum and it worked great and was easy to use. Wasn't free, but then I'll pay a little for a decent program that works.
  10. Awesome fabrication! Love how you go the extra mile to add the details so it looks stock. Was it difficult relocating all the wires for the HVAC?
  11. Nice reminder video Steve! Never ceases to amaze me how people will quickly blame a product and then talk shit about it when it's really user error along with the fact that they didn't take the 5mins to read and follow a very simple manual. I see stuff like this all day long.... People cut corners and have horrible electrical systems and when something blows, it's always the test equipment's fault.......SMH. Shows great customer service that you take all these in with no hesitation.
  12. Nice! White exterior, black and orange/tan with silver trim.......LOVE that combo!
  13. The OM-1 is adjustable so you can set it wherever you want to show clipping (or whatever you want really). You know your system, so I'd say forget the book and just adjust it where your system starts to clip (or whatever clipping level you're comfortable with) and go from there.
  14. You can think of things in terms of "load impedances" to help visualize what's going on. As you said, your subs are ~1 to 4 ohms so we can consider that low impedance. I don't know the number offhan, but I believe the DD-1 has an input impedance of 10kOhms which you can consider the "load impedance". Therefore the DD-1 draws very little current to do its measurements which is why you can connect it to large amplifiers. Oscilloscope probes are mostly 1Mohms. So you can see oscopes draw VERY little power for their measurements. But since they are sensitive tools, the probes can only handle a limited amount of volts so you have to be careful. When you have nothing connected to your amp, it's actually connected to the air. Air has a resistance of probly 100Mohms or more. You can see it puts a HUGE impedance on the amp so practically nothing comes out. As was said above, another good way to state it is that power is "drawn", not "pushed".
  15. Watched the whole thing live on the news. The guy was finally stopped not too far from my place actually. Also found out that a girl I know was right next to the lady in the Toyota that got jacked so she could have been next...
  16. FWIW, I can slam on mine for quite a while and they play fine. As soon as I turn up the Sub Level and notice a bit of clipping on my O-scope, shortly afterwards I'll start smelling coil. If you can smell them, its most likely clipping.
  17. That would be Macallans. I've had the 18yr, REALLY good. So the 25yr, I could only imagine would be phenomenal. EDIT: Ohh yeah, speaking of JW Black. I just got a bottle of JW Double Black which I really like....smooth.
  18. If you have noise that you need to get rid of then they could definitely be worth it. If your (unbalanced) signals are clean and you you're happy with it then no its probably not worth it, unless you want some of the other features of the device.
  19. Hmm, none that I can think of offhand. There are solutions though. Fosgate makes a Line Driver module that will output differential signals. http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/products/details/rf-bld Or you can get an external processor (360.3) that does the same. Not that many people like buying extra equipment but there are options.
  20. You won't be able to tell from the specs unless they specifically mention differential inputs. Some companies advertise it, some don't. They are generally used in higher end amps since there is more circuitry involved which filters out common mode noise and gives you a larger/cleaner input signal. Any reputable company should have a technical support team that can tell you if their product supports a differential signal. If they can't or won't...walk away. Also keep in mind that your device (HU) sending the signal MUST output a differential signal for the noise cancellation to work.
  21. Love it when companies who make quality products aren't afraid to show off the guts!
  22. DAMN Cody, you guys are tearing it up. Quickly becoming THE one stop shop for everything quality that a car audio enthusiast could want.
  23. ^^^This So apparently I got under his skin more than I've ever seen before. In the early AM, after my post about him in this thread, he started a thread on one of the Colorado Facebook groups asking who this "Wicks" guy was that talked bad about him... Then he performed a creepy internet search for me and found my real name. O_o So we've spent the past 2 days going back and forth with no resolution whatsoever... You're right, there is no possibility of reasoning or debating him. He says a couple sentences and then insults you like a teenager. I can appreciate and respect somebody with a different viewpoint if they can debate you like an adult, but this guy is something else..... SMH Sorry for off tracking this thread a bit but I wanted to put that out there. I'm done with this guy, there's no point...
