in some cases that type of firepower is needed. the cameras and storage for those cameras are not cheap and some police forces are unable to afford to outfit all of their police officers with them. the pentagon is the one who was distributing the type of weapons and vehicles to the police departments. Last year alone there were over 480 MILLIONS dollars of equipment sent to departments for FREE. i dont care that they have the type of firepower they do as sometimes they need it but i do care about how they use that firepower and when

as a person who has followed this since say one and when i say follow im talking in regards to all the live feeds, ALL news stations as well as from some people that are actually there, there is so much wrong with what you just said its not even funny.. and this is coming from an American that is labeled African-American. 1) your right brown should have not been shot in the street.. If you look at the surveillance video from the store, thats where he should have been shot! That store owner should have been packing and as soon as the grabbed him by the throat and shoved him and then came at him in a threatening matter in an act to do harm after stealing from his store he should have had a few rounds put in him then. Never should have made it up the street.. you dont come into someone store no matter the race.. steal and then push them and act threatening to them when they try to stop you. 2) there are no reports that the cop followed him so why dont you wait until all the information comes out in regards to that matter 3) there is no dash cam video because there was not one installed in that car. There were only a few selected cars that actually have it installed 4) that was a strong arm robbery. Shoplifting is when you take something sly and leave and if you get caught you are not violent. he was not only violent but threatening and should have been shot in the matter the acted against the store owner in which he just stole from and last no we should not take the cops word for it.. you should never do that as the majority of cops lie ( in my opinion) but that is a choice that michael decided to do. it is nobody's fault but his own. if he would have never went to the store to steal in the first place then there is a good chance that NONE of this would have happened. Karma is a bitch and sometimes it comes in the form of a cold ice dead one. the family of michael should send an apology for the robbery that took place in their store.. dont forget this is also coming from a black guy

and while i agree with some of your statements here there is a issue i have with #3.. In this day and age yes most people are trying to record the police and there is a need and reason for it. It has been proven multiple times and shown how the manner of a police officer changes once they see that they are on video. This is a fact! While it may see a little off to you it could just be that no one was there to film what had happened. Plain and simple. I believe that ALL citizens should record the police. For their safety and for proof, because time and time has shown again that police do lie and lie alot. its very hard for them to lie when you have audio and video. glad that there can be a discussion between 2 people who have somewhat different views on things and nobody gets called out their name or gets banned or heated! truth.. i think the disagreement that we both have on if a permit is required or not negates from the big picture! That cops getting away from violating our rights and not being held accountable!

and the issue that we have with the police these days ( some not all) is that there are no punishment for when they break the law or violate the rights of the American people. Nothing will be done to any of those officers that violated the rights of the media and people that were there and that's what needs to be looked at. When there is no punishment then there is no just cause to change!

I see your point, but you also have to see the officers point. Knowing these protest now a days never turn out peacefull. Hell even after a sports team win's a championship, they do this same shit. And when you are protesting with a mob of people, not permitted, you are breaking the law. Disturbing the peace, intimidating citizens and so on and so on. Let's face it, we all know what it means, when a group of people with a mon mentality are out shouting, No Justice, No peace. You couldn't be more wrong in your thinking sir. I can assure that no permit is needed for any type of protest and there are no permits requested for any of the protesters down there! There are plenty of peaceful protest that happen in the U.S and of course some that are not. What was done there to the innocent people was a disgrace. Not only to the protesters but to the media as well. There was media that was arrested with no charges and then let loose with no paperwork. Not everyone in those crowds had a mob mentality. Police are trained to try to de-escalate the situation and that didn't happen in the situation that i am talking about. You can see the big difference that happened the night AFTER. There were no need for snipers, no need for militarized tanks, no need for hundreds of officers with assault rifles being pointed at peoples heads when they were doing nothing but what the constitution of the United States of America says they have a right to do. While I agree that some of that force was needed for the hostile groups, what happened to those innocent people was a pure violation and if the same thing happened to me you can rest assured that i would have shot back and I'm not talking rubber bullets.

The latest I've read is that the police have stopped their tactics against the protestors to let them do their thing, but of course it has to be done peacefully. The moment violence and theft breaks out, I'm all for them using tear gas and rubber bullets. After what happened to the protesters happened ( including the media) then the security was handed over to the state police and the county police was relieved of their duties. They just didn't fire on the peaceful protesters but they did on MEDIA as well.

You are wrong in a few aspects of what you have posted. 1) You don't need any type of permit to get together to voice your opinion. That is your constitutional right to do so 2) Your statement that NONE of the protest was peaceful is completely wrong again! There were many protest that went on that were peaceful and without harm. If I am at a protest and following all the laws that are put into place, NO officer can tell me to go home! I can sit there and voice my opinion as long as they want and when someone of the laws tells me that its time for me to go home then i am going to become upset. When the law forces me to move by hitting me with rubber bullets and gas then I am going to fight back and shoot back with things that they will not be able to get up from. well it has been said by the chief of police that the office that approached Michael Brown did not even know about the robbery. He just stopped them because they were walking in the street. I don't give a shit about that.. lets get to the part of the peaceful people who got their rights violated by the fucking officers. I hear what you are saying though. anyway, i think the looters pissed me off way more then the actual incident. What is the purpose??? I was beyond pissed at the looters and was about ready to drive down to help some of the store owners protect their businesses. That looting incident that happened before was just one of many.. There were looters there as well as people peacefully protesting on the same night in different areas. true true. In my previous thread that was deleted I addressed this. They should have issued a national kill order on all those looters that were taking and stealing from the business that were there for years and years providing service. There were people there whos only mission was to destroy, steal and cause trouble but there were also people there who didn't steal, loot and cause damage who's sole purpose was to voice their opinion.

Like i stated before.. wait until everything comes out. My issue is not what happened to the kid.. he stole so it is what it is there but my even bigger issue was how the local police violated the constitutional right of the "PEACEFUL" ones that were out protesting. Making them leave when it is there constitutional right to protest how ever long they feel. Then when they don't leave they are subject to gas and rubber bullets. I can assure you they would have had to kill me that night. In regards to the video, it's why I made a point of waiting until all the evidence came out as none of us were there. I'm still waiting before I say my peace on that part. I have contacted the local person of the ACLU here to ask them very valid questions. What happens when I am protesting and a office of the law points a sniper rifle or any kind of weapon at me? What happens when I am being told I have to go home at a given time from a person of the law? What happens when I don't bow down to that command and get gassed and hit with rubber bullets? What rights do I have to protect my life when I feel threatened by the law when I am in my constitutional right of doing something?
