  1. Well, here's a few factors Did you use the same wire for the 1000 as you did for the 600? Could be limiting the current on the 1000, thus producing less watts Did you set the gain right? Every amp has different voltage sensitivities Every amp behaves differently I have a friend who went from a Boss 120x2 watt amp to an MB Quart FX1.600 600 rms amp, and he told me the boss used to be louder on lower volume, while the MB Quart is louder on higher volume, but then again, he's using the stock headunit, so could be voltage problems there. So you need to match the amp's gain accordingly with the headunit.
  2. Looking good so far, and the VW Beetle is one of my most favorite cars. Really can't wait to see how this turns out.
  3. Maybe the new amp is overated
  4. Finding problems you'd never expect Having to wait to get money to fix those problems
  5. Damn, I should sell my 2 23' 2048x1152 monitors, and get me one of those
  6. This one looks curious http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_44471_MB-Quart-ONX1.2000D.html
  7. There's Obsidian subs to choose from too.
  8. Sounds a bit radical, but you could do a cutout for the 18' on the rear deck, that's another idea, seen it done before on one of the build logs. Yeah, with the 18' facing up in the trunk, you're gonna have one hell of a rattle.
  9. I don't see what's wrong with that, though people would say you can fit 2 15's instead of 1 18', but if it sounds good, then why not.
  10. I like my Volvo S70, has 212k, and still drives good, and very reliable. Though I do sometimes wish I had the V70, but with 1st cars, you don't really get much of a choice. Good luck on finding a good one.
  11. I say sell the 2 12's, and get a 2nd btl to save yourself the headache, plus 1 18' has more cone area than 2 12's anyways if that's what you're looking for.
  12. I bought mine when it 1st came out, so it didn't have the cooling improvement yet, and my friend's one was exactly the same. Both the 512mb version
  13. I Still mod gta sometimes haha. I want to go to back to it, and even start modding GTA 4, but my computer can barely handle GTA 4 plain, so I'm kinda afraid to mod it, and deal with all the lag. I wanna be able to run ENB properly on it too, GTA SA runs fine at 50-60ish fps no enb, 20 to 30ish on enb, and gta 4, I get like high 20's to mid 30's on 2048x1152. May go back when I get a new videocard, my HD 4850 isn't cutting it for me anymore. Anyways, even though being used to being around car mods with either great detail, or ripped of another game like nfs, I'm picky, but that's still a cool mod. Is your bored crossfire ready? My board can do quad crossfire, I had a second HD 4850 before, didn't see much of an improvement, and GTA 4 kept crashing. I scored the 2nd one for $50, then it went bad, and was making my room feel like hell (both ran at 87 degrees Celsius), so I traded it for 4 more gb's of RAM to my friend who owed me for driving him everywhere lol. He got pissed when he got home, which is in another state. The 2nd card worked fine, just ran really hot, and wasted a lot of power for no gain, only thing that went bad was one of the display ports, and I told my friend that before trading.

  15. Ah, those GTA SA modding days, even though that is the worst Tahoe mod I ever seen in my life lol.
  16. But I do agree on saving up for a better 4 channel, it'll be worth it.
  17. Sounds like you need some passive crossovers, though you say you're using stock speakers.
  18. The inner machinations of my mind is an enigma.

  19. I use a combination of 12 gauge(connected to headunit), and 18 gauge(connected to button and amp) wire since I use a button to turn off my bass amp sometimes.
  20. Titebond II or III. Once you've used that all other wood glue sucks X2....Titebond II all the way. I buy it by the gallon! I have to agree, Titebond is the best wood glue I ever laid my hands on.
