why cant it be grounded to the chassis? Because after it goes through the chassis, your stock ground wire connecting chassis to battery will burn up, or be the bottleneck in your electrical. Run alt - straight to batt -, he's not saying don't do an extra batt - to chassis ground, if that's what you're thinking.

a 500 watt increase isn't going to be night and day usually, even going from 2k from 1k will, in a perfect world, yield a 3db increase, which you most likely wouldn't notice too much. Even if it 's not too much louder, you're around the same output while knowing your equipment's safe.

ummm....You should just have 1 positive from the big 3 to your battery. Go from the positive on your battery to the output stud on your alternator. From the negative on your battery to a good ground to the chassis. From the negative on your battery to an alternator mounting bolt. There are quite a few threads with nice writeups and pictures though, more helpful than any amount of words.

piece of string, mark your lengths you need to cut. Alt + To battery pos, self explanitory. Alt - to battery negative, easiest is probably to just use the alternator mounting bolt. And chassis to batt negative, locate a nice body ground and go to batt negative

Alright, So I'm soon to be ordering a d3100 & d3400 with a few sets of terminals from TeamProjectdB and I was wondering about the Mounting hole size. They have options of 3/8'' or M6/.25''. Alot of the CDE Alpines have Pandora features, I have a CDE-123 and love it, plus 3 sets of 4v preouts.

I'd trade/sell the 18, or like Larry mentioned possibly get a recone for it and do a 15'' And I'd wait on the amp though, alot of people like AP, but it just doesn't sit right with me, and it's not the cleanest power out there. Figure out the sub situation, buy a DC/Mechman alt, then save for an amp imo. You don't want any more lost gear still a sad day to hear the brz bite the dust
