  1. Where you using bass boost on one and not the other, did you check to see if they had the same LPF settings, maybe you have the new one crossed over way lower.
  2. I was just wondering, you are sealed off from the truck right? so closing the trunk lid turns it into a fourth order sort of. This is just me being crazy but what if you ported between trunk and cabin, using the trunk as the back half of the box? Probably never work. is it louder with trunk open or closed? Maybe you could find a way to just vent the trunk so there is less air pressure. This is just me letting my brain do it's thing, usually it's never good.
  3. From what i can tell most of the house is 3 layers, at least looking at it from the side. But that part might be four. That cut is right in the valley so they probably layed down a row in the valley on the layer they put on. So i think every three shingles is one layer. That would make three layers maybe four plus shake. Whatever the case the shingles i'm putting on are 30yr and the next time it will get metal which should be good for 50. since i'm 35 i shouldnt have to re-roof after that point barring any major catastrophes. I doubt i will out live my roof at that point. And if i average 20 years a layer X 3 layers plus the layer of shake. That is around 80 years. That's probably pretty close actually. Also if you would like to see some history on the town i live in check this site, it a great little town http://www.mikezulu.com/wetmore.htm
  4. Well, it had some serious sag going on in some places. And i am defanatly going to pay someone to clean up the mess. I think about 1 square of that crap filled a truck bed trailer full.
  5. Same here, they don't want more than two layers. I can get insurance on the roof right now, so i am trying to get this finished. I still have so much more to do and i have no idea how i will do that steep part, Roof jacks and friends i guess. I just need to find a way to bribe them into coming down to help.
  6. I have to re-roof my house, and of course the previous owner must have thought that by adding layer upon layer upon layer upon layer would never have any repercussions whatsoever. Think i am kidding? here is some proof. Furthermore after all that asphalt came off there was a layer of wood shake under that and the roof was still leaking! It is total chaos under there look at this crap, it took me two days to get it all back level and re-sheeted. I have the front done, this picture make the new shingles look gray but they are actually shades of brown and here is the ironic part, the asphalt shingles i chose are suppose to look like wood shake. LOL, is that irony? The really stupid part is I have to do this by myself, my wife works graveyard, and my kids are 12 and 10. The 10year old helps some, he staples in the tar paper and hold the tape measure/stands on boards and helps hold stuff in place when one guy can't do it. But you know how kids are, 90 degrees out and they fall out pretty quick.
  7. Put y'alls video into total video converter and convert that sumbish to mpg, then slap that mug into win Movie Maker and rotate it.. Unless you own a iphone and a mac, then just throw your iphone at the screen and it will rotate.
  8. It kind of reminds me of Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome, or was it the other one...
  9. Well, i havent found too many people with your issue, but all i can find is it may be a speed sensor, i think you vehicle has more than one, or the TCM. Have you had it put on a diagnostic machine yet?
  10. And as for your dinging read the first post here, seems fixing a ground wire in the door helped this guy. Did you have your door panels off at some time? If you did you may have accidentally loosened the ground somehow. http://repairpal.com/chrysler-pt_cruiser-2001
  11. Try this; Calibrate Speedometer and Tachometer. Press and hold odometer trip button then switch the ignition from lock (Off) to unlock (Run). Hold trip button for 5 seconds then release. The cluster will then step through several displays for function verification.
  12. Thats just a wire wheel, home improvement stores sale them and auto parts stores too. edit lots of sizes but here is one http://www.amazon.com/SE-Stainless-Steel-Wire-Brush/dp/B001HBV8K2/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1337431254&sr=8-7
  13. Congrats, It's good to hear a happy ending/beginning like this. I know from experience the effects of those things, i had a brother that was addicted, he got some help and a prescription to deal with the side-effects. But sadly it was too little too late, he isn't with us any more and i always kind of felt like i wasn't there for him enough. It's awesome you have a family to support you. Oh, and sorry bout' the depressing post, just wanted to share.
  14. Well, mayeb since he has 30 trillion posts this would be a better fit
  15. So lets pick one for him, I think this would work. Post your suggestions
  16. All i could think was that those cars were just driving in a big circle and on the other side where you can't see is a big machine that just swaps parts on and off random cars.
  17. why didn't i think of this in the other 500 dd-1 threads?
  18. I just run the speaker wire down the side they are on and (do my best not to zip tie them directly to the power wire every 12mm as tight as possible). that last part was me being a smart ass. The less distance your speaker wire travel the less chance they have of picking up outside noise. But i've never heard of speaker level wire picking up noise, just rca's.
  19. Sounds like it has a "din" plug on it. I don't know anyone that uses these any more. Old kenwood stuff used it for line out/line in guess alpine did too. You could get one of these http://www.ebay.com/itm/Bang-Olufsen-1-foot-7-Pin-Din-Plug-2-RCA-Jacks-Audio-Cable-BO-402-/280757631233#ht_589wt_1165 and try to hook it to your stereo, but that thing is from the 80's and like b-dubs said it's probably an amplifier too. here is a pic of the adapter but it's no guarantee it will match the wiring of your e.q.
  20. Yours are in a sealed box, his are in too small of a ported box, and the ports on his box also look laking in the size department.... sealed box and ported box= nowhere near similar broski, going to have different requirements for each. I understand apples and oranges, just reaffirming the box is to blame. Since mine play well low and i know my box is built well, although not a popular style. ported shouldn't even be remotely compared to sealed, they are two completely different things. affirming that the ported box should get lower because your sealed one does is completely irrelevant. You guys are missing my point, all i am saying is the subs are capable of playing the low notes he wants, So he should try a different box.
  21. Well, i'm just saying that might be your problem, if the alt isn't being told to charge because of a bad connection then you need a new plug. You still didn't say how long ago you bought it.
  22. See the white plug? on your car is a cable with a plug that goes in there, you need to replace the plug on the car side.
  23. Well, the alt is probably dead then, but you said you bought a new one, but how long ago? Only other thing i could think is the main charge cable isn't connected tight at the alt. I looked up your alt and it appears to actually have a cable from alt to battery, unlike some ford alts.
