    stopped at oriely's today and they guy was like, "how many subs you got in there?!" so i let him hear the system, he wouldn't get it but right after i turned it down the other guy came out and was like "what the fuck is going on out here?" lol

    lol, driving home, temp outside is like 40, temp in car is like 80, bass is sucking in outside air around door seals.

    Cleaned out my hatch, Cleaned up the rats nest of wiring, got two new tires for the front of the car and now i have a spare. Funny how i doubled almost every component in my car and have more room in the hatch than i did stock.

    Of course you can 45° the corners or kerf them. get all fancy and stuff and flare the port. Id this is going in a truck you might actually consider porting to the side, i am not all that familiar with box design for pickups, but others on here are. So as far as sub and port orientation you might ask. Who knows, maybe you could just use some PVC or an aero port and have some of the port external.

    he could just run the port all the way across the back and still port back, it will only be two bends that way. I just like to keep my port all on one side. Give me a sec and i wil draw that up.

    I am not sure about the port area myself. It might be ok, maybe email sundown and ask what they recomend for port area. Seeing that the port is so big it has to be super long to get the tuning you want. Here is kind of what you may be looking at when you build your box. This kind of thing happens when you run a small sub with low tuning and lots of port. Keep in mind this isn't the only way to do the port but it is just to show you kind of what you are getting into

    Voltage seems fine now. Guess with the headunit, the coil under the hood, and four amps idleing my voltage with engine off drops down a bit. Seems to be resting at 12.8 after sitting for several hours.

    Stupid Batteries Resting at 11.8? wtf man? Guess i will put them on the trickle charger over night for a few nights and see what they do.

      had same issue.. check your wires. could be corroded and not letting the battery charge well.. i would see 14.0 volts when on and thought the battery was gone.. put it on the charger and it rest at 12.8 after a day.. my ground wire was very corroded

      I have my ground from alt to chassis, but i fogot when i re-did the whole build i yanked the batt to chassis ground. So i am using the stock ground wire. Since my grounds run front to back i think that may be the issue. Not sure though since i still don't drop volts even wired like that. Just weird. It's on the charger now.

    Then you missed the meaning of the video. The power they saw was between RMS and Peak , The box they were in was the correct size, i wouldn't over power a sub and put them in a huge box, DCs dont like it. For true SPL comps you dont pick the freq your going to play at, the car and system tells you, Once you know it you build for that. I thought peak was irrelevant. And what were you tuned to? I'm just curious. I guess I don't get it. It just seems like you are saying you didn't even plan anything, you just built a box near what it should be and then just threw more power at the subs till you hit the numbers you wanted.

    Petty cool, but not to be a negative nancy, all i could gather from that was throw over rated power to subs, in a slightly bog box with a lot of port and from what i can tell tune high and play high. Am I way off here?

    240 amp alt is installed. Now i drop 14.3 to 14.0 full tilt. Might be better once i top off the batteries.

    Soccerballz, I apologize for my shitty attitude . The OP pissed me off because he wont listen and has no clue what he is doing. I have so much shit in my life right now that is not fun. So when you came in and said what you said, to me it was just another person putting out mis-information and not helping. So add it all up and i took it out on you. That was not the right thing to do. No hard feelings man.

    63 is pretty low IMO. But some people like it that low. Try putting it at 80 to see if it louder. That is the root of this issue right? You want more output but the subs are getting hot?

    I would use the lpf on the head unit. You might check it as it could be lower than your amps lpf causing a loss in output.

    just stfu and get out. OP, did you adjust the EQ after you set gains? did you turn on bass boost or loudness after you set gains? anything like that? Are you wired down to .25 ohms? I see you are running two d1 subs so i have to ask.

    look we are talking about the pre-outs on the head unit. Not the speaker level outs. No one who buys the prs that i know of, buys it to use the speaker outs. Why they even put an amp inside is beyond me. And the prs80 does 62/62 at like .015%thd.

    Couldnt get the nut on the bottom of the alt loose, broke a ratchet trying. Gave up, thought about it a coupe days. Realized that i am an idiot it's a bolt that comes from the back and the nut is part of the bracket. Tight ass engine compartments ftl.
