  1. the high q is for recommended for a sealed box if you want a ported box dont get this option and how do you figure just cause you got a burger with the lot it will take 2000rms, the box will play a big part of this not just the sub, myself, ive put this in 2.75net at 1100rms (as you can get a good amp cheap in this rms range) as a standard none optioned sub, and loved the way it played
  2. now that's a load of crap, how can you say that as a generic scale, port size has and will always be determined by sub, box and configuration 2x4" is optimum in 2-2.8cuft net 1x4" is optimum in 1-1.4cuft net (how many 12" subs do you no that like this amount of cuft, unless overdrive at full tilt, yes there are some but not many, its more likely to be a 10") 1x3" is optimum in 0.5-0.8cuft ft net
  3. 9-13 cuft per ft is a rule but doesn't alway need applying, Also diameter of port = min. distance from wall/ restrictions apron exit and entry of port Flared assists to minimise port noise and incress efficiency, but not required There is no ratio/size of port to size of subs Every sub is different and in different boxes, the xmas combined with cone area has more to do with it the the size of sub 1 larger port is better then several small ports but 1 large may not alway fit
  4. 4500 for 2x18 amp box wiring you'll do easy with good stuff, you won't need to scrimp, you may have to add to it latter tho If you need surround of h/u you may wan to cut down on easy to add stuff like maybe 1 bat in rear to start with As said before Run all you wiring, 2 min runs 3 better (about 20-25ft per run) Start with 1 good bat up front and 2 in rear but allow for 4 in rear Either replace factory alt with bigger or add second just for amps( this is better this way then you can use the full 270-300amps not just 220-250 of if factory is replaced) but allow for 1 or 2 more latter when making/ordering brackets Matt the car or second skin everywhere you can get it
  5. this setup is good for around 26-2800rms @12v single factory replacement 270-300amp alt (mechman about $450-600) 2x 0g runs to rear(50ft $130 or $250 depending on strand count) xs d3400 under the hood ($250) and 2 d3100's in the back($350ea $700total) just feel lucky you live where you live, im in the process of setting up a car with this same setup, and im just on 3g with terminals and lugs
  6. you are going to need a bit more space then what you have, unless you run a small, real small port, you either need to wider taller or deeper also with 12.5" that 11.75" and you sub is 10.5, that's not much room
  7. dont really no what your budget is or where you prefer to buy, but all under $200 in this order would be my choice http://www.sonicelec...io-JX360-2.html http://www.sonicelec...e-PBR300X2.html and if you want something a bit cheaper, and less power http://www.sonicelec...-10ZX200.2.html
  8. There are quite a few ways of doing this, th easier way is a removable port, then you can have two or more tunes to you find you liking, Build it with 2 ports and seal up the one not inuse Build a removable port that goes inside the other, some times you only need add to one wall of port
  9. Never done it that way but do see why I won't work as long as it's strong You can get it already cut in 3/4 x3/4 from the hardware shop by the ft it's about $2 per ft Then resion that in if it's easier You can also get in concaved as well witch is better
  10. Sorry thought you ment the 45's Was typing and driving on way to work The port pieces are 12" high x 8.25" long and rounded on one end The 45's 12h x 1 19/32 wide with 45 going in And 12h x 2 59/64 wide with 45 going in
  11. 1/16" off 1 1/8" out 1 19/32" width of each cnr of the port And 1" off 2 1/16" out 2 59/64" width in the sub area
  12. dont no if your after something like this, or if you want subs up or all forward, but let us no, and well try to help out where we can
  13. Can't design one at moment as I'm mobile But 25-27sq" of port 1.8cuft net at 32-33hz Don't tun over 33 unless you really need to or no the peek of you ride.
  14. love to see the prof where in the "majority" not "minority" of cases you are talking about, yes they lose output over concave corners, but compared to nothing they always assist they serve more then 1 purpose in the box,
  15. thought the xl15 was 2200 rms rated
  16. Read you owners manual Ported is only 750rms in 6cuft (including sub displacement with Pollyfilly) And depending on the age of you subs they might only be 750watts (not rms) http://www.kicker.com/sites/default/files/SoloBaricL72008.pdf
  17. here's a good start http://buy1.snapon.c...ore&dir=catalog and then build on that with what ever else you need if its a bit to pricey look at this http://buy1.snapon.c...ore&dir=catalog or even the appearance starter http://buy1.snapon.c...ore&dir=catalog everyone got to start somewhere in aust. im one of only 2 people with the tool wagon, as not to many want to drop 24k on an empty box http://buy1.snapon.c...ore&dir=catalog this is what i have (its 21895+ 10%gst here)
  18. need a bit more info that is this what you got to go with it Pioneer- Avh 4300dVd Kicker- 5 1/4 Components DC Level 4XL 15 Hifonics- Brutus 1700.1d Monster Cable - 0 gauge Big 3 Upgrade
  19. without any new box dimensions, i cant assist with an L-port as the net ends up to small this will work with 4" plumbing pipe so it should help keep the cost down (will not work with aero as flare is to big to fit) it also basses off using 3/4mdf but i think in your pick you have smaller then that, 3.7net @36hz you will need some bracing in the corners, just havent drawn it if you can come up with some better measurements ill draw something better for you
  20. You'll love the v2's they thrive in 0.5-0.6 net each at 32-33hz
  21. I concur with building a new box What thickness mdf I'd that is look a bit small? If you want post you dimensions that you can build to and try for another design box, When you get a good designed and built ported box you'll notic the difference,
  22. 1600 each is a bit to much power for theis subs there only rated at 750 I ran mine a 1k and they handled it but 1600 idd be dropping that box right down at that power
  23. Thanks for that saw alpine also do a bitone as well but the audison seems to be the one one to get bitten seems to be a lot better Also look a shit load better then soundstreem or audiocontrol ones
