You're doing bus bars as in solid stock aluminum like 3/8 1/2 inch thick right? something like that? if so than I wouldnt worry about the aluminum moving...watch the terminal ends though...its ok if they get a little flatter but you dont want to smash them so bad the bolt pushes through. All those torque specs are in inch lbs so its not a huge amount of force...but certainly enough to get a good conection.

IDK about it creeping in the aluminum...especially if you are doing bolts with nut/washer method..not tapping the aluminum.. Since you are using nuts you can torque it to the proper torque for that grade/size of bolt. http://engineershandbook.com/Tables/torque3.htm I'm not sure what grade/size bolt you are using...but make sure the nut is the same grade also. Than I would suggest torque to these specs. or close. If you tap the aluminum it will change because you can strip the aluminum out easily. I would use Lock washers on your setup..just a suggestion. FYI these are in inch lbs...

WIll i'm sick of losing back seats for my 12. Was thinking about going 2 15's and taking rear seats out and going for it....but I dont think its the plan anymore. I am going to sell my whole sub stage setup...SA-12 BRZ1200 and my little Kinetik. and go with something actually smaller lol. I'm thinking a 1000w rms amp witha smaller footprint and 2 8's in a sealed enclosure between rear and front center seats. I am probably going with Sundown E8v2's but I stumbled upon the American Bass XD8 for a similar price. Power handling is a little higher with the AB XD. any experience with the 2? any suggestions or opinions. Not a vs thread but I want opinions...even if its your cousins bf who has one. I might go with the AB just to change it up unless it would be lower in terms of performance compared to the e8.

Obsidian Audios 18 and DC xl 18's are on totally different levels. OP what kinda power are you gonna run? Box maximum area. Also the Obsidians are sold out for a long time...they dont even have a eta on any..or I'd be buying 2 lol. The fact is he played football.... football=scholarship His GPA isnt even close to top of his class I'm sure, but football is the reason he got the scholarship. Ive never seen him play football but in pictures he is smaller than his dad...So he must have alot of heart. He gets good press and another individual gets a chance at succeeding. 2 birds one stone. His gpa is mid level when it comes to scholarships. I had a 3.8 in highschool but the absense of sports made it impossible to get any kind of scholarship. Not that I wasn't active...I raced Motocross..snowboard..surf...skate..stand up jetskis and tons of other stuff but not any school sanctioned sports. This thread will probably be real soon.

I had the storm 2 and it was a piece of crap. Wouldnt click sometimes and had a crap load of screen problems. I had it replace 4 times before I gave BlackBerry the finger and got a Droid Incredible.....still rocking the Incredible...rooted on CM7 and OC'd its faster than my brothers new Inc2

Why does it have dual 0 gauge inputs but say 500wrms on their specs below the picture of the hot girl lol. Myab e atypo supposed to be 5000wrms? If its 5K rms I would sy 800 is a steal.....the dual inputs a 4gauge outs look beefy I wish I could find some gut shots.

Positive between battery and amp would not short your amp...it would short the battery causing the wire to overheat/melt/cause an electrical fire. Some amps have fuses on them some dont...the ones that dont it is usually recomended by them that you run another fuse right before the amp also. Never run your wire without a fuse. It is unlikely that it will short..I have never popped a fuse...but if it does happen do you feel like burning your car for a 10$ fuse holder.

AQ2200 is too much for that....and be careful on your AQ1200...if you are wiring it to get full 1200watts you need to make sure you watch it or its gonna get stinky pretty fast. 3 cubes seems big to me... Right now I'm at 1.66 tuned 33hz and it sounds pretty damn good and even from 30 to 60. By ear it peaks about 40hz if I do a sweep 30-50. I'm building a new box that I'm planning on giving to whoever buys my SA-12. Going to be 2ft cubed tuned at 30 or 32....but it should give a little more of a peak low end wise than the 1.6cubed box. 3 seems really big to me though.

Im in the same boat. 2005 GMC canyon 2.8L I4 the only HO alts I can find are ebay alts from someone I have never heard of. Dont feel like dropping 400$ on a ebay alt to have it die on me. Ive contacted mechman,DC, Singer and a few others.

I would see how much of a gap it has then check the gap clearances on a SA-15 to see if it would clear....thats not a big difference in size and might just result in a slightly tighter gap.

Oh man you should be fine with big 3 and second battery. Dont they have a spot under the hood for a second batt? Without all the accessories you are even better off.

Maybe an XP2000...if you have room? Or if you have the moolah go bigger than when you go with more power later you will already be set.

I would just get the second battery. You probably wont need the HO alt....what kind of car? Do the big three in 0 guage and a run to the back battery. then 0 guage to sub amp from back battery and you can run whatever size your mid/high amp take to that battery too. I would run a ground to the frame/body panel on back battery...and a 0 guage ground from front battery to back battery as well. Then ground your amp directly to the battery. As for your size....I say bigger is better...so look at dimensions figure out what will ift and then go with the biggest ah rating for what size space you have to work with. On my setup I only have big 3 and a single kinetik hc600 under my seat(only room I have) and it does fine no dimming no voltage drop. Your only a few hundred watts above that so a full size battery..you shouldn't have any problems. Ans doing all your runs in quality 0g wiring will help if you go bigger later.

LOL there is no assuming you idiot. 600 and 1200 obviously are different woofers. if you cant see that then you should quit the audio game. and orionstang knows way more than you. i'll tell you that right now 600-1200w does not mean different woofers. I run my SA-12 close to 1200w but alot of guys run them in a pair at 600w on the same amp. So how does that mean different sub?

I would put money on the 2 being louder because same power but double the cone area would be an increase....if both boxes were just as efficient. But thats in a perfect world...there are so many dynamics and Im just a noob so but in general I'm pretty sure (same power)+(more cone area)= (more output).
