I'm wondering if anyone has run a PTO (power takeoff) to power a bank of alternators. Read about them here (specifically commercial vehicle PTOs): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Power_take-off It could be an awesome way to power a monster stereo system. Thoughts?

The most important question is how much money do you want to spend on your entire system. Edit: I see you already stated your budget. Sundown makes pretty popular amps and subs, people seem to love them here, and they're priced very competitively in my opinion. I have no experience with them myself though. How much internal square feet is your box? Oh and BTW, your installation work looks great:)

I read the OP and thought that it's going to be darn hard to get a decent system for $1,000. Bass for $1,000? Yes. Entire system? That's going to be tough. Like others have said, buy off the net, not from any brick and mortar shop to pull it off. JMO.

I'm sorry to disagree with the title of epic, but I do. It was cool and kind of lame at the same time. There was too much time in the video when the bass wasn't hitting. When it hits though, it hits. I'd be thrilled to be rockin that system. I consider this an epic video.
