  1. Belt has started squeeling until i have the car in 2nd or 3rd gear and the voltage stays in the 12's until i get to that point. Belt doesn't seem too tight or too loose. any suggestions?
  2. unbelievable...Hopefully he throws you some cash to make a dope box, he shouldn't get all of this great work done and then keep a sloppy box in the back.
  3. wow...that is disgusting.....$5,000? I wouldn't let them give me $5,000 to do that to my car.... my condolences.... On another note, i need some rockford 6x9's. Care to ask your friend if he wants to sell his steve? thanks.
  4. hahah, ya bro the car has no handles on the inside. It has door poppers (and a button in the console). I just didn't tell her where the button was. I forgot that's why i thought it was so funny, i knew there no handles on the inside. I didn't know you had poppers on the inside though. you forgot...hahahah. good times.
  5. Hey steve, i'm curious as to why you're doing 15's instead of 18's, does it just go better with you build plan, is it space constraints? thanks!
  6. ohhh, didn't even think of that, thanks for the help! i probably will have to get some ring terminals with bigger inner diameter, there is only one audio shop within probably 60 miles of me, and they don't carry anything bigger than 4 gauge. i have a few different terminals here, hopefully one will fit. i'm going to be doing 2x runs of 1/0 for everything else, should i do 2x runs from the alt to the battery too? CCA or OFC wire? Also order online. Much cheaper and save your gas money! What size is your Alternator? I run a 320A and since the wire is rated for 300 amps I was forced to do a second run. The last thing you want to do is melt your wire or melt the stud off the back of your alt. If your running a 270 amp or smaller alt I say your fine with one good quality run of 1/0 OFC i order online for everything, the local audio store does ridiculous mark-ups, they sell the pac-lc1 for $40. All of my wire is OFC. The alt is 240 AMP universal. Thanks for the all of the help! i really appreciate it.
  7. if you somewhere find a d2 12 collecting dust, let me know.

  9. okay, well since there are no posts made for it on the casing, i doubt i will be able to fit any 0 gauge on there. what size wire should i aim for a ground? same size as the power wire. 1/0. always 1/0. how? theres not just a big bolt or post on the alternator to put 1/0 on...please explain... A squeal? Or a whine? Never heard of a squeal before. a whine would be more accurate.

  11. Make sure ALL of your grounds are clean and tight Okay, could a long ground wire for the radio cause this problem? No speakers are run directly from my radio, they are all amped. I will have to take out my false trunk to check everything, won't be done for a few weeks, so i will post back then. Not likely.. I would most defiantly have a dedicated ground coming from a clean surface or from the lower alt bolt going to the battery i see...i wish i had known about this before, working around that alt is not fun thanks for the help though, i will get a dedicated ground from the alt to somewhere nice. no additional ground to the alt. =/ My bracket isn't pretty, but i assure you it is very sturdy. Yes the big 3 is done, and within the next month i will be doubling the wire on it. My rear battery has a nice 0 gauge ground and the Amps are grounded to the battery.

  13. Since this new alternator, i've had a squeal in my speakers, what could i do to remedy this?
  14. Not weird. You simply have had a different experience from them.
  15. though i think this entire thread is ridiculous. I have bought from Sonic once, and it was less than satisfying, i won't buy from them again. that being said...OP, the only person you have to be mad at is yourself..
  16. did you really think there was a possibility it wouldn't do a hairtrick? not hating, just curious. i couldn't imagine 2x 18's walled in a civic on 14k wouldn't do a hair trick. also....this thing is going to get beyond brutal when the SMD's get in there.
