  1. Don't mean to offend, but they look pretty standard. Nothing special jumps out to me. Would think for another buck could have better terminals.
  2. Does your Alt have a large or small pulley. If it's large change to a smaller pulley.
  3. Since so many seem to love the Pioneer head units, and few have heard anything about their amps. You should do a amp test Tuesday for their GM-D series amps.

  4. I'm jealous. Can't wait till i can afford to get my Mechman. Anyways looks sweet, i'm sure it will last a long time.
  5. I think the best part about it was, you could tell the white guy didn't really want to shake Obama's hand, nor was he impressed.
  6. There should be a give away for not being on facebook. What ever happend to just word of mouth and these audio forums. Or when a company was proud enough of their product to have a big give away, knowing if their product was excellent. The owner would be proud to show off the goods and do all the bragging and promoting needed.
  7. STEALTH808 Myself and some others have recommended 2ohm set up, because we dont know what his elecrical set up is. The odds are if the Op has to ask the question. He most likely doesn't have an HO alt, extra batt, and done the big 3. Therefore the 2ohm would be easier and safer on his set up. That way down the road when he does these upgrades, he can then run 2 subs at 1ohm if he chooses. Why you are spazzing out at anyone giving him safe info, tells me you need a nap.
  8. PS, I've done this for a living kid. Stealth, son just because you have done for a living, doesn't mean you know what your doing. Your just another punk kid trying to be tough on the internet. Although i may be 47, i am definitely not your typical 47 yr old. And next time i visit Hawaii, i would be happy to to meet up with you and discuss your attitude. Yes while you may had a couple pf people agree with you, it appears more agree with me. You were the one making assumptions on the op system. Not knowing his lay out. I and several others gave him a safe solution. So maybe you should think twice before going out on a tantrum, usually the safe advice is the best advice. And when you sit there and call members fags, it sounds like you have personal issues that may need to come out of the closet.
  9. OP, my goal was to try and give you good sound and safe advice not knowing your set-up. Apparently most agreed except for stealth. So you can take who's advice you wish. Mine or the kid (stealth) who chooses to argue like a 10 yr old. I may not be the top expert in the world, but i have been doing systems for 30yrs.
  10. No not the D2- you will be pushing a 1,000 watts. And that will be pushing that sub to the limit. Get the D4 and wire down to 2ohms, the 750 watts your amp pushed at 2ohms will be plenty for that sub. Your amp will also stay cooler and be more efficient at 2ohms.
  11. While it will taste like shit, as long as it was not previously opened. It's not going to hurt you. What you are seeing at the bottom is the breakdown of proteins and oxidation. But hell Steve that would make a good contest, to see how little it would take for a member to drink it.
  12. here you go http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SOARCaGU47s this will tell you easy step by step. It will be easier for you to watch this than me tell you what your doing wrong, and bad advice you may be getting.
  13. When i contacted Mechman for a price quote, they emailed me back within 2 hrs. And gave me prices and specs for all 3 alternators that would fit my truck. Now that's customer service. I would always recommend Mechman, great product, and a stellar customer service.
  14. use a toroid choke noise filter before radio and all amps. This will always insure a clean signal.
  15. lots of info needed. How are they wired? Are they on one amp or separates? Were they purchased at same time-meaning are some newer than others?
  16. 1991 chevy 3/4 ton. Yes alternator is regulated at 14.4 volts. Its a 105 amp. But i will upgrade alt if i do the 14 volt battery. plus i will get the AVBM. I belive the rest of the trucks electrical should be fine, except i think i will have to deal with the fuel pump issue. But from what i seen on the video, the speed controller will solve the fuel pump issue.
  17. Amps are pioneer GM-D series. Yes they are safe at 16 volts. But i would never try and charge a 12 volt batt at 16 volts. That is why i want to run as my main a 14 volt batt. Current batt is still good, but after pounding out continuous bass for vey long batt will drop to 13.9. and then you start getn lights dimm, harder to start, etc. so i think a 14 volt batt will solve all my issues.
  18. Ok, so looks like all i realy need is the speed controller and a AVBM. And yes i know a 12 volt charges at 14, actualy mine charges at 14.4 volts. But i want to run a 14 volt batt, wich will charge at 16.4 volts. This will eliminate the need for all the extra batts, cables, etc. since i have a single cab pickup and run only 2 amps. 1-400 watt rms and 1-1200 watt rms. The main 14 volt batt, putting out around 16 volts should be sufficent enough to run the 2 amps.
  19. I was curious if anyone is running a 14 volt for their main power supply. I guess my main concern is, does it give you issues with your fuel pump? I dont see any issues with any other electrical, but i have a feeling the fuel pump may cycle to much, Any input would be appreciated.
  20. for the 5k , i say 730 over rated power. for 7.5k, i say 480 over rated power.
