    NSPL ....doesnt use 4 ohm rating .....they clamp your amps ...it avoids ...cheater amp issue

    strapped pair counts as 2 amps ...if your amp makes <<<<example 3000 @ 4 ohms ..you will be in the 1501-up class...if it a competition only show ...

    No Alan plays a repeating test tone ...not music....... dont always trust the cone area means louder ....and to answer the OP question ...you will have more options with 2 18s .and have the potential to be louder ..with 8 15s not as many build options
