Southnash
It is all about clean signal when you get to spl and proper loading and correct tuning. Understanding imp rise and voltage drop. That is all that plays into SPL. Let's say you have 5000 watts of power.. measured, etc Two different brand amps, but one has amazing damping & near ZERO THD.. a 5000w RMS McIntosh or Zapco <<<yea, ok It would have to make a difference... maybe not to your wallet...ha Opinions? AMI CUSTOMS
So you are gonna argue that less THD is gonna have better SPL numbers on the TL? AI James
Build quality, great, to the right person they sound incredible... I can name several sets that I like better... in all honesty, build quality isnt what sells JLs speakers at all. name recognition does. people think they sound incredible because they have a big price tag. anyhow back on topic, im sure these AQ amps are going to sell like hotcakes

Southnash
asking... Not so much THD but more the Damping... some amps have over 1000+ & the one has less than 150.. This directly controls the subwoofer...better damping more SPL?

J.Reed
To me JL is just living off there name. AQ is making there name. To me doing a great job at it as well. Zapco has to be my most favorite sq amp of all time. even had there 1000 watt amp. That was an amp. Aq may not be right for everyone. If you got the coin and "GOD" ears go by a Mac or Zapco. For the average JOE The AQ sounds just fine, is reliable and nice on the wallet. end story.

What other name brand that you can buy in a store compares? Not for SPL comps, but everyday, average joe overdriving them like crazy? RF, Kicker, are ok..memphis a little better... Hertz was the closet thing.. (amps & subs) working at a JL retailer for 5yrs, I NEVER had one come apart...burnt coils & torn foam surrounds from older subs & 2 W6v2's...
