I barely ever use sound deadening. but If I have a $2000 budget, $800 is going to subs, about $800 in amps, and $200 in wiring, rest in accessories, no way is $500, 300, 200 going to be budgeted in to over priced sound deadening. I have NEVER had a problem using PNS either. As far as it not sticking? omg, I have seen the garbage with the blue side, and hard that has close to no adhesion, that is garbage, The stuff I have used from HD is double sided, very flexible, very sticky, doesn't smell, and THIS is how I use it: 1) clean surface, and spray with carpet spray, or whatever wait about 2 minutes 2) layer up a couple layers or three 3) aluminum foil over that, all using a roller to get a good flat seal- no heat gun ever needed and never peeling off, and the aluminum keeps the scent from going in to the cabin, and keeps excessive heat and flame from the tar $300+ job that DOES last for years for only $79 bucks, well, plus the cost of the spray adhesive Also, when its 100deg outside, a surface temp of a car, asphalt, ground, whatever will actually be another 20 30 40+degrees hotter. Thats not a guess, I checked the ground when it was 122deg here 3-4 years ago. ground temp and car temps were in the 170-180 range PNS when used correctly Lasts a long time, doesn't smell, wont catch fire, and is pound for pound the same weight as high costs stuff for an equal dampening Butyl is better of course, I love the stuff. But its honestly how everything is budgeted Unless I personally have a huge budget where I can do all the dampener, etc and some cash left over I will, but if not, PNS will work Hell, the people who are knocking PNS are also even knocking Meade just a few years back before he got sponsored by Hush I believe it was I have a ritual called "terminator". I crouch in the shower in the "naked terminator" pose. With eyes closed I crouch for a minute and visualize either Arnie or the guy from the 2nd movie. I then start to hum the T2 theme. Slowly I rise to a standing position and open my eyes. It helps me get through my day. The only problem is if the shower curtain sticks to my terminator leg. It sorta ruins the fantasy.

Youre right i do not have any experience with it first hand but as people have posted they havent had any problems with it. Its a hit and miss kinda thing. And i have seen my friends car perfectly fine not one problem with it so far. No way you can say the compound in peel and seal will never catch fire, ever. And I personally couldn't imagine spending money on great quality equipment and then getting crappier cheap stuff. You said so yourself, it will never have the same performance, but if so...why not just do it right and get the best possible when doing it the first time? Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you?

BUT, I DO SEE WHERE N8 IS COMING FROM! i was working on my buddys firebird yesterday, the shop he took it took charged him $400 to put on dynamat, he called me and said a bit of it was peeling off, and he asked if i could glue it on, i said sure. he gets here, its like $20 worth of P&S and she shit was stuck on the plastic of his hatch, shit was overlapping like a son of a bitch too, im glad that shop is about to go under, did i mention the P&S wasnt heated either? i pulled all of it off with two fingers. now guys, i have tried pulling some of my P&S off, the shit that i actually baked with a heat gun before i installed it, and you CAN NOT get that shit off, i finally just had to take a razor and cut it in small strips to take it off, trust me, this shit sticks if heat it, and the reason im doing 6 layers in my roof, is because i can, because the shits cheap enough, do i need that? no, hell no i dont, BUT i can afford to do it, and i would rather have 300mil of P&S than 70mil of damp pro, maybe thats just me. EVERYONE has their own opinions, and n8, i think alot of us would agree that you have that "if its not my opinion, its not the right opinion" mindset on things like this, and i agree with you to an extent, peel and seal is NOT damplifier, but for the price, who gives a flying fuck? you can get so much more quantity over quality that the quality of the others is surpassed, if you buy enough, and will still be under the price of the other, it IS A DECENT product, IF USED CORRECTLY, and as for leaking onto carpets, unless this shit can melt through MDF, i think i'll be fine. also, lock this topic, im tired of some of you people, you know who you are, the guys that act like if you dont have $500 subs you aint shit, those are the kind of people that make standing out on SMD such a high standard. im taking out my passenger seat, battery is disconnected, going to unwire and take out the three amps, take out the 70+ lb box, then the platform so i can crimp 1 wire. But suprisingly enough that does work ok... My only grip about second skin is the damn shipping... For the amount I need I pay 180 bucks in shippng.to Nc... Other than that I love it he wouldnt be the first to say they did a 167 with a system like that (one that clearly DOESNT), but i have to say, he didnt beat me anywhere, ive never competed against the guy. If he thinks his does a 167, mine would probably put him in a coma. :hairtrick:
